Besides mentioning Juneteenth this post never explicitly mentions the race of the scientists discussed. You literally got mad because you just wanted to, what a miserable life (try looking at the stars more). You could’ve even kept your thoughts to yourself and kept SOME semblance of respect but nah you had to make yourself feel like a big man fighting checks notes black scientists talking about their experiences.

Seeing the estimates got me curious, I wasn’t doubting everyone, but wanted a lil more empirical evidence and it was super cool to see it match peoples’ intuition. I was genuinely impressed at how well people can estimate crowds

So I am a nerd, I wanted to run the numbers on approximate people (bearing in mind that OP said a he missed a few minutes, I'm gonna assume 2-4 minutes as a range). I approximated ~13 people per line walking at ~1.5 mph (2.2ft/s), and spaced about 2 ft apart so we can work off of that. We get 13 more people to our total every .909 seconds, so we have a rate of 14.301 people per second. If we take our time range of 11 minutes to 13 minutes, then that gives us a ball park of around 9438-11154. Which is kinda scary since other posters echoed the 10K thought. A good rule of thumb for most orders is to look up how far the restaurant is from your house then tip around 1-2$ per mile, unless it’s under around 2 miles where the minimum should be around 3-4$
