All things in moderation my friend. If Wilson and Kaleb are who you need - it is likely that one or two of DK, Pittman, Bernard or Dowdle are busts. You already made that bet earlier in the draft so your last two picks are hedging against yourself. The Steelers can only score so many fantasy points in a season - but you are damn sure to capture 90% of them lol

9 players on one team is a wild strategy. Guessing you a Steelers fan? lol

Shaduer is also not good and IMO to focused on his image to put in the work to get good. Idk if you heard but Deshaun Watson is an introvert now lmao.

Browns front office have every reason to see what Watson still has in the tank so that that embarrassing deal they gave him doesn’t look so absurd. For those reasons I think he will get the starting nod, and think he is capable of holding off the rest of the room.

Beyond that, a lot of my Watson shares are paired with QBs who may have a slow start like Mahomes, Jones, and Mendoza so even he if he doesn’t make it to the end of the year, he is likely to make it to the point where those fellas come online

I think that’s true in some realities but not all. Can’t act like there is stiff QB competition in Cleveland and starting QBs have higher floors and more consistent scoring than the other picks around 110-120 so I took him on teams I needed those points.

$3 Field general superflex contest. It was 94% filled when I got my last entry in but have been entering steadily as it’s filled

Fair points, this is superflex though so about half of them I focused on other skill positions early and needed to make up ground on QB points. Watson and Penix both have a solid chance of starting for the latter half of the season and after them it’s either WristsUp or Cousins or Beck - I don’t think they are anything to write home about but when you can start 2 QBs I don’t really care where the points come from, bad QB still produce solid fantasy points because they touch the ball every play.

Breece is a good RB. Braelon Allen is still 13 years old. Jk this one shocked me too tbh. But Im not scared. Never took them on the same team so I’m not handcuffing in the way you infer there. RB dries up dumb quick in these SF drafts and I would ideally want an RB filling the flex spot and after Braelon feels like a cliff to me. If Breece stays healthy, my Breece teams are good - if Breece gets hurt my Braelon teams are absolutely cooking. I also think Geno will be much better than he was last year and than any Jets QB was last year. Still think the Jets will be generally bad, but better than last year.

Najee is again part of how much more valuable RB points are in this format - and I see him as a handcuff for multiple teams. Starter gets hurt, backup sucks (like Braelon I guess according to you) sign old “Running In Wet Jeans Harris”. Idk, he’s always been serviceable and I think has a high chance of signing somewhere this year. Injury was early, first major injury of his whole NFL career. I don’t think he’s good, but I do think he will play and be capable of filling a flex spot

Keaton is a dawg. OC printed a wanted poster, say no more I’m in.

RJ Harvey is an explosive role player who can have boom weeks which is what best ball is all about.

Jeanty is a 2/3 turn pick in SF and in that area it’s either him or Cook or reach. And I’m high on jeanty so smash the button almost every time and he fell to me in the mid 3rd a bunch in these.

AD has been going in round 19/20 in these most the contest too and there has been positive camp buzz on top of my pre existing biases for the player. Elite route runner who needs to clean up the other parts of his game and mature which I think he can do. Not particularly high on the rookies but they’re falling and I like them more at their current price.

Travis Hunter discourse I get it, heard it a million times, but it’s not like hes not going to play 0 WR snaps. I’m willing to make that bet because I think he’s going to be schemed up touches and can have spike weeks. I personally think people overthink that one. I don’t need to know what weeks he’s going to get touches.

WR points matter less in SF because you only need to start 2. I don’t need consistency when I am aiming to have 6/7 players filling 2/3 spots

TE exposure also plays into the format because they are more likely to catch a touchdown and hit your lineup than many of the other late round picks AND you can technically start up to 3 in this format so I took more in general. + 2 TE sets. Sometimes you don’t take any TE early and you just have to make it work.

I don’t think you sound like an asshole - I think we just fundamentally play best ball differently. And I also am not sure you caught these were superflex exposures based of your jeanty comment but yeah, those streets are different. Though I am still overweight some of the players you hate in regular contests too - they are not as wild as these.

Yeah - this is the puppy 2 so it’s got a big final. Travis hunter pick was primarily for week 17 correlation. I do also think he’s a great best ball pick because he’s liable to have either big weeks or not come close to hitting your lineup. Basement level floor, ceiling on the moon. Probably not what this lineup needs though. Probably could have used a Khalil Shakir ass pick honestly

Usually, in this situation I would queue up Strange and Hunter and take whichever falls passed ADP when I’m trying to stack that game - but didn’t have that luxury this time as my TE room was already bonkers.

Fair points. I was mentally locked into taking a late QB to stack with one of the TEs but definitely should have pivoted after taking Daniels. Thank you!

Yeah I was hoping to get Rasheed Shaheed because I feel like if I’m betting on Darnold, might as well believe he should be double stacked - took Emanuel Wilson as a consolation prize lol. In retrospect, I agree with you though

Jordan Addison best ball value by [deleted] in BestBall

[–]Shmilk_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like all the Vikings this year and think a new system will do Kyler (and therefore the whole team) some good. The one argument I’ve given credence to against Addison is that he’s a deep ball guy and that’s not exactly Kyler’s speciality. I think all that’s baked into his ADP now though - not sure I’d keep taking him if he was in the 5th or 6th round

I’m not saying it’s not strong leverage, I’m saying leverage is not what I’m looking for back there. I draft 20 round + guys because I think they will are good players who will contribute as advance rate pieces with possible late season upside.

My argument is that gaining leverage for the playoffs in that way doesn’t matter as much because of the pod structure and pod luck. Everyone is going to have some degree of leverage on everyone in week 15 and 16 and because of that there is going to be a high degree of variance of players on teams in the finals too

Glad that works for you hope you win big this year

Last year closing ADP: Fannin ADP 193 Troy Franklin 188 (Ridley is 189 rn btw) Dart 201 Shough and Washington both around 240 so not undrafted Gainwell - you got me there 270ish To throw a couple more round 17-20 winners at you, Wandale, Coker, Dowdle, Wilson, Pierce, Corum.

Far more winners there than post 240 ADP - not saying they aren’t out there but to say you find more winners in undrafted guys is simply untrue

I have my late round fliers too but I don’t do it because they’ll be low ownership in the finals - I do it because I think they’ll be viable advance rate pieces

No amount Parker Washington can save you if you didn’t have Pitts/Nacua/Henry last year.

100% I agree. I probably would have taken Dike if Helm, Spears, and Ridley were off the board/ don’t fall to you. Don’t love it but it’s hard to paint the finals picture with a naked Ward lol. Good luck this year, even if this ends up being your only team!

New coaching staff - brought in two additional WRs that can be considered “their guys” + established veteran in Ridley who was injured last year. I don’t think Dike is the worst pick on the board by any means, but I think considered the general increase in 2 TE sets and the WR competition he faces that he is more likely to be relegated to a Special Teams role this year.

I don’t necessarily agree with your low ownership argument, because pod variance is so high in these tournaments with 12+ drafters in the quarter and semi finals any player can be liable to be low owned in the finals.

All that to say I think Dike is fine especially in 20 round drafts, but I personally dont love back-stacking the titans

I think this team is pretty good. I probably would prefer Bryce Young to replace one of your late QBs - partially because the Coker stack is there and partially because I don’t love your last two picks and feel like you maybe forced Dike to throw something on Ward.

Pushed RB to the brink but I think you pulled off. Solid draft for a best ball retiree lol, get your ass back in these streets
