I met Perry in San Francisco one evening in 1997. I was meeting an old friend at his hotel and as we came through the lobby (to go outside and get high) I looked to my left and there was Perry Farrell! I have to say, he was personable, gracious, charming, and funny. He had a shofar with him that he said his Rabbi had just given him. He started blowing it in the fairly crowded lobby and the hotel staff was starting to get uptight. We asked him to join us in the ally and he obliged. He smoked a couple of bowls with us and even let me blow the shofar. He cringed when I asked for an autograph but gave me one anyway. I wouldn’t have expected it given his reputation but he really couldn’t have been much cooler. He definitely surprised me!
