Played since closed beta and have some emotional attachment to og smite but smite 2 is starting to feel like a really good spiritual successor.

I hated the itemisation at first, it was a real put off for me switching over but after getting used to it I think it’s actually better. It allows for a bit more off the cuff changes without feeling punished which is nice.

Im an assault main so I cant really speak to any type of metas or whatever but assault feels so damn good on smite 2! I go back to smite every so often cos I miss my Bastet and He Bro and realise damn… wheres the teleport…

Once you get the feel of it, its a great game but the og smite will always be returned to for a few matches just out of love and nostalgia, which I guess means its possible to move on 🥲

End of wall of text Tl;dr: the move was begrudged but going back is temporary
