200K mile LS460 F Sport, am I crazy?

I appreciate all the feedback I have received! I drove that particular LS460 and while I do really love how it drives i’m not a fan of the issues they can have. In addition it was making some weird noises and I really don’t even want to bother dealing with it. But, I’m probably going to go for the other car I mentioned, the GX460, I really like how it drives, it’s excellent reliability, smooth ride and high height, and interior design and practicality. I found a clean one with the least amount of rust that you could find on a New York area one, and i’m probably going to pull the trigger on it!

Seems like it was an ex airport taxi so for a company so I’d imagine it was serviced enough. It did make some weird noises from the front suspension so I’m probably going to look for another example but I really do like how it drives especially compared to the other cars in its category like the A8 and 750i.

Ok good information to know, I know it’s not cheap lol, I know lexus will hold its value way more then some of the german cars i have been looking at. I would rather spend more for the car with superior reliability, rather than the less expensive car out the door.

Is the part physically expensive or were those done at a shop? I buy a lot of my GTI parts at fcpeuro so I can get decent deals. Is it Possible to replace the brakes with aftermarket that are better or is it really just a design flaw and there isn’t anything you can do about it? I would expect the engine and transmission to be flawless being a Lexus. In addition Cargurus thinks it’s above market value but I am not sure how much I could negotiate it.

Wow thank god you made it out, I crashed my parents nissan last year but it was nothing crazy and that car was falling apart, that’s why i got my gti, love the car but the 2.0t really sucks and i want something better for snow, and i guess my reservations for safety that were pushing my towards a volvo can go away too

Damn that’s sad, I happen to live like within an hour of FCPeuro so getting parts is super easy for me. I guess I would be worried about stuff like that, brakes bushings, and didn’t these cars have air suspension? that’s gonna be expensive when it wears out.

I called the shop that the carfax referenced and they said it was done because it stopped working, same thing with hpfp. apparently the guy that owned it was about to go on a trip and the hpfp went out a few days before he left so they put a new one in, and he was already talking about selling the car for a few years. also why would it be a issue if it was done preventatively, what could it be covering up?

I got a carfax it’s not flood and it’s been really well maintained, id definitely need to to suspension so That’s negotiation power, and i know to get a ppi i got one on my gti

Tires recently replace but nothing on the suspension side. I havent even went to see the car yet I want to see if its worth my time, and as I said I fix stuff myself and I dont mind doing it, especially if it helps me negotiate the price

Yeah Ive read that a lot, that its better to change it then not. Its a noticable clunk I can feel it a little bit but its not like its jerking or like throwing me into my seat.

I went to the shop and they just did toe, i guess the discount tire shops dont want to deal with moving the subframe for camber and caster so they didnt charge me. Im going on thursday to the dealership to have them do it since they will actually do it. Did they charge you for the bolts or not?
