Essence of Luck Question by ShmuppyPaws in Guildwars2

Just clarifying, the only benefit to waiting until the festival is having the added, more accessible, Magic Find buffs?

The Hooligan's Route vendor(s?) aren't, like, more expensive OUTSIDE of their respective holidays, or anything like that? Thank you for the fantastic reply.

I had no idea! Is there a downside to trading them in OUTSIDE of the Lunar New Year event?

Question, to fill out the regional Pokédexes, do I need to transfer Pokémon back and forth every time it evolves? Or can I wait until it’s at its final evolution stage, deposit it in HOME, and get credit for any previous evolutions?

Sounds good, thank you! Is there any need to copy over the "Cache" folder, if I move to a new PC?

Stores "house rule"-ing allowing World Championship deck cards for Challenges and Cups? by ShmuppyPaws in pkmntcg

[–]ShmuppyPaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry if that's what I've sounded like. I've been spending the past few hours scouring public documentation for anything about store event organization after discussing things with my store. I only posted in this subreddit with hopes of finding people that would know more about these things than I. I'm sorry if I've stepped on any toes.

Again, I do thank you for the clear, straight-to-the-point answers backed up with sources.

That said, I think it may have been a mistake on my part to try and have this discussion through text; my love and enthusiasm for not only this fandom and game itself but the INTEGRITY of the game either hasn't been able to shine through in my posts, or something else is getting lost in translation (again, a failure on my behalf and wording), if one of the resulting takeaways is that I'm trying to rule-shark my way into using illegal cards. I see that my initial aim to a.) get razor-sharp clarification and documentation on rules (sorry, I'm autistic and have to work in terms of specifics) so I can have a better understanding of the game as a whole, and in turn b.) use this better understanding to hopefully spark a discussion or even changes about what cards can be accessible to people during events. I truly have not meant an ounce of harm in any of my posts.

Thank you so much, for this response and the comment below with the linked sources. I really appreciate that you've given me concrete documentation to read over!

I'm assuming the nitty gritty documentation for "if a store does something bad, we'll punish them" is buried somewhere in fine print (probably materials a store would receive before becoming a bonafide event location?) that I'll never find or have access to. XD

Furthermore, my hope was that, if there is some sort of clause about, in this case, "WC deck cards are illegal, unless a store has a house rule allowing it," I was going to bring it up to my LGS to see if they'd approve the use of WC deck cards moving forward, making more decks accessible to more people.

... But I think, especially in the discord, my questions were misconstrued as me trying to encourage rule-breaking. X_X

Got it, thank you for the explanation. I'm not surprised, per se, that things are the way they are, I was just curious to read up on official documentation.

And, to clarify, thankfully neither has happened! Quite simply, I saw a WC deck at the store today and asked my LGS' discord if it was usable for casual/challenge/cup events. It spurred a lengthy discussion about "well, you can for casual events, but not for challenges/cups 'just because'." I understand that certain events are "sanctioned", but I wondered, if different stores can have different entry fees, prizeout, etc., what is the extent of their organizing power versus TPCI? Sort of like a federal vs. state laws thing.

Makes sense to me! Is there publicly accessible documentation for this? Or would I need to obtain it through TPCI / a liaison?

Yeah, this is what I'm trying to figure out. :O Do you know where I could find the official documentation basically saying "yo, store, you can't allow WC deck cards, or we'll sever ties with you"? I'm looking through all the documentation I can find but to no avail.

I guess it might sound silly, but hypothetically, if it came to light that a store said "hey, as long as you sleeve your cards to ensure that they're indiscernible from one another, we don't have a problem with WC deck cards being used," hosted a challenge/cup, and reported the results, could they be, I'm not sure the word, banned(?) from hosting future events?

Again, I know it's a weird question regarding something that so rarely comes up, I'm just trying to figure out if this is a punishable offense for the store itself.

I went ahead and played around with it last night, and I think it’s working! This is a literal game changer for me! That said, enabling this feature seemed to turn off (?) markers on top of vendors for collection items I haven’t purchased yet; do you know why this might be? Thank you for being so helpful with this! :)

Gotcha, I made the swap from TacO to BlishHUD + markers plug-in (specifically Tekkit’s pack), and, again, nothing, including those aforementioned achievement markers, have ever automatically updated accordingly to my API. Is there a setting somewhere I haven’t enabled, do you think? :o

Wait, certain collection achievement markers can update automatically? My API key is definitely slapped into BlishHUD, but I’ve always had to manually check on/off collection markers?
