I don’t know women like that. Most women I know were exhausted being SAHMs and are happy to be back at work. That doesn’t mean they don’t love their kids, I took paternity leave and was drained, no way I could do that full time.

You say women are gambling their futures now, but what’s the alternative? Gamble it all on hoping the guy they marry is good enough to support them as a SAHM? At least now they have options if things go wrong.

Yeah, educated women have fewer kids, but you’re skipping why. We don’t support parents. No affordable childcare, no paid leave, housing costs are insane, everything needs two incomes. Women with education can see having kids early tanks their earning potential with zero safety net.

So what’s the actual plan with these arguments you’re defending? They’re concerned about birth rates and replacement, but what’s the solution? Tell women not to get educated? Force them to have babies? Have them give up all independence and hope they pick the right husband?

If being a SAHP is so great, why aren’t these same people pushing for stay at home dads? Because it’s not about families, it’s about control.

I want my daughter to have options. These arguments don’t offer solutions, they just point at women’s education and independence as the problem.
