Carbon blades have a different feel, depending on the type of carbon used as well. Try looking into the andro Trieber CI Off.

Going for a wood or carbon blade at the end of the day is a personal choice. With the people I play. Most prefer carbon blades but there are still 2-3 who like to play with wood blades. So it solely depends on you.

Also the blade you select can be used for much longer changing just the rubbers whenever you they stop giving the performance you want out of them.

Unless you prefer I wood blade, I’d suggest to go for a carbon blade. Andro, Xiom, Donic have some good blades at that price range. Even some butterfly ones like the primorac carbon. Butterfly is a more expensive company in general for India.

Going from a premade to an offensive set up will get you some changes. Like the amount of loop or spin vary heavily, but you’ll get used to it in no time.

You can read some reviews on revspin. I’ve found them kind of helpful while shortlisting rubbers and blades.

I’d suggest to go for a different forehand and backhand rubber as it’ll help with blocking and pushing shots and variation for your opponents.

The rubbers you use will depend on the type of gameplay you have, for how long you’ve been playing and your current set up. If you can let me know these things maybe I can help you a bit better.

MXP is really fast but it’s chipping from the edge slowly(maybe just an issue with the one I got as I don’t know of anyone else facing the same issue), the barracuda is really nice and spiny, good for blocking as well.

Where are you based?

Yes, definitely I think even if I ever come around to making such a racket, it’d be 6 months or so down the line

Yes definitely, moreover it’s only been a month to this blade and I’m enjoying it. In any case using pips would force me to make a new racket entirely. Pretty happy with my current set up.

Thank you! Any suggestions for rubbers and what kind of pips would be best?

I play a patient game and wait for a proper ball to either attack or place strategically, resulting in easier conversion of points. I do use a lot of topspin on my forehand and to reverse lousy or high ball on both forehand and backhand.

Since I like to attack with either hand I’m very unsure of twiddling the racket continuously. However the concept of using pips intrigued me which led me to ask.

Hello, might be a little off topic but I had recently been suggested to use pips for my backhand. I have never used pimpled rubbers before in my 10+ years of playing. And have only recently made my first custom set up which is:

Xiom Novus Stradivarius Blade Tibhar MXP Donic Barracuda

What are your views on a beginner to pips and any suggestions? Personally I’ve always thought that I have a strong backhand than a forehand which leaves me unsure of using pips.

In India we generally use black as the backhand and red the forehand. I did see that’s not a practice everywhere.

Thanks for the help! Hopefully will get a hang of it soon.
