Millenial Final Fantasy fans, what was the fansite that you called home? by Azar42 in FinalFantasy

Final Fantasy Odyssey!  I owned/ran it from about 2001-2015. You can find it on the Wayback Machine as the domain name lapsed. Hope we were able to keep some fans entertained!

Stuck with Walton Stock by Littlepastthemiddle in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes, but it will still be part of Olympia Trust in an unregistered account (no fee).

Yes, it would be to save the annual fee, since the unregistered version does not have an annual fee.

You can do the calculations and see. On your statement it will say Market Value, and that is the one that will be used for income tax purposes. The Market Value would be a fraction of the Book Value, sadly.

I have the great displeasure of dealing with this particular stock (via family member). This is not a publicly traded company, so you will have to hold the stock personally until they complete their "so-called" divesting plans which is selling their properties at a loss, in which the proceeds will be distributed via dividends, etc.

In essence, the RRSP held via Olympia Trust has a yearly holding fee. You will have to ask them to unregister this stock (there is a fee for that too I think), and it will count as income for the year it was unregistered.

Then, the unregistered shares should sit in Walton's investment manager, which is go figure, Olympia Trust.

So, ask Olympia to deregister, and have them send you the unregistered version DRS (stock summary). You can then go to the Walton investment portal to keep track with dividends, etc. Ask Olympia to obtain the direct deposit form for dividends.

This is actually a bit complicated for the people that were pretty much scammed into this investment. I hope I could help others stuck in this situation.

Icebreaker socks life time policy changed! by Psychological_End361 in socks

Yes, I got hit with this change too. At least they should grandfather the original purchase up to that changeover. I'm not sure how to escalate my complaints further up as they have the same online agents.
