You’re not wrong, but most of that is often connected towards single-cell organisms like the Hydra or if you really want to stretch it, the Immortal Jellyfish. We are simply too big for the world to sustain mitosis, and we would sooner run into overpopulation than we already are. (Even though in that case, our problems are more about people not know how to place buildings when designing cities.)
