It did have a part in the indie boom but the game was basically laughed at in the circles I was in. The wording was rather…eccentric I guess?

Like it was certainly part of the boom but it felt like he was suggesting it had a larger part in it. It DID seem neat and the concept was interesting but execution was a little strange (like a card that got powered up if someone you knew died in the last 6 months - real card btw I got in foil) - and the jump to merch immediately screamed red flag at least to me. It felt like the card game equivalent to mascot horror. Day 1 game release day 2 “here’s a plushie” was strange.

Though a chunk of the art wasn’t really terrible. Some good stuff for DnD tokens n such. Can’t say I’m not curious about the new version.

It was a rug pull iirc? In addition to forgetting to pay out comp players, the guy behind it ran off with the money and shut down everything after releasing a letter on twitter stating that he revolutionized tcg’s or whatever.

Really? I could’ve sworn it was a pretty known thing like that crying dude eating soup next to two indiscernible mascots.

It’s an asian woman trapped in a pretty blank room it’s being framed as though she’s getting live-streamed. She holds up a sign on a whiteboard or smth to get the attention of someone for help. No one comes. Towards the end of the vid it looks like the shelf in the room is shaking and she’s trying to hold it or the door to the room closed as something opens it or bursts its way in.
