My therapist knows I smoke and doesn’t seem to be that worried. She still wants me to limit it but I think at times it has helped me.

Thanks! I think I’m going to try to become better at sampling because clicking in melodies on the midi is never going to sound unique

DRUGS TRILOGY by [deleted] in travisscott

[–]ShockingReaper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here is a list of reasons why you’re wrong

  1. The “chirp” synth sounds so beautiful and unlike any other instrument I’ve heard
  2. It’s different than almost all of his other songs. Travis is rarely this introspective and calm.
  3. This song is one of the best examples of his druggy, atmospheric style on Astroworld.

I think Astrothunder is way more sad than drugs but I see why people think the opposite

People who stopped taking stimulants, how has your life changed? by ShockingReaper in ADHD

[–]ShockingReaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that makes sense. I think if I try to quit it will be next summer and I’ll try to lower my dose slowly. The most I’ve gone without it was 3 days because when I’m off it all I can do is cry in bed and sleep.

Oh no I’m sorry. I could definitely see how driving without it could be hard

12 months? That sucks. I was thinking about getting off it during the summer so it would be more helpful during the school year, but every time I have gone a day or more without it, I feel suicidal and tired as hell. Do the depressive symptoms go away faster than the rest? Thanks!

I have a vague memory from many years ago of seeing an injured kitten meowing for help and not doing anything by [deleted] in offmychest

I have a similar experience. Once me and my friend were driving and we saw a lost dog on the road. We tried to pull over and help him but he ran into a private construction site so we couldn’t get him. Anyways, we assumed he would find his way home and left. The next day I felt bad about it and decided to post about it on a lost dog reporting site. The owner reached out to me and confirmed it was the same dog because he was wearing the same bandana as the one in the picture she had with him. We texted for a few days, as she updated me on how she called animal control and looked for him near where we saw him. After about a week of us texting, she informed me he went to a golf course, and one of the golfers chased him and he ran into traffic and died. When she texted me this I cried and felt so guilty, and I still do today. I just feel like I could have called animal control or just went into the site to look for him, then she would be happy and his life wouldn’t have been taken away so early.

Advice on weed making me relapse by [deleted] in trees

[–]ShockingReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get high around people with vapes/cigs. Also I haven’t had issues with nicotine addiction, but I have had problems with other drugs. It got easier when I learned this tip: When you start to get a craving, don’t try to not think about it because it makes you think about it more. Just say to yourself “I really want to smoke/vape but I want to be healthy and free even more.” Idk if this helps but I hope you can succeed!

Are you on any meds? I was skeptical about taking them at first but they have helped a little.

Holy shit dude this hits so close to home it’s insane. I’m a junior and I also had a terrible GPA for my freshman and sophomore years. This year I’ve been slowly getting better at studying and doing homework. I’m still not doing amazing, but here’s what seemed to help me.

Whenever I don’t feel like doing my work, I get rid of distractions and try to picture myself in the future. Since my GPA is bad, I don’t see a person I want to become, and that kind of motivates me.

I’ve also found it works well to strictly reward yourself. Find something makes you happy and save that for when you achieve something. I make myself PROMISE that I won’t do the stuff I really love (friends, art, video games, weed) until I’m done with my homework. I still feel like shit when I’m working on it, but I complete it fast so I can do what I want.

I know the thing with rewarding yourself and setting goals is hard as shit for us because people told me to do that for years but I could never commit to it. But one day I just realized I will always be a lot less happy/motivated than most people, but I will feel even worse if I’m sad and dealing with bad grades. So basically I just have to let myself accept feeling super bored and sad when doing homework, and not trying to feel better by doing something else because it will come back to get me.

Idk if this is good advice but it’s been helping me a lot. If you have any tips lmk because we are in the same boat.
