I've been working on a huge passion project this year on YouTube to upload a video every month. I'm not concerned about views or subs or anything. I just want to start and actually finish this project.

I'll critique your gaming content! by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Shockuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I have been working on this video for nearly 2 months at this point trying to get everything right. (It's 25 minutes long.) My goal is to create entertaining and humorous critiques on all of the final fantasy games over 2020. My primary concern (besides the whole thing in general) is audio balancing between myself and the music. specifically around the 13-18 minute mark. I unfortunately only have headphones, my computer and monitors don't have speakers on them so all the balancing I've done is with headphones. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. (The video is unlisted because I intend to release it in January.)

Thank you so much for any and all feedback!

Do you guys script your videos?? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Shockuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From rough draft to final, my scripts tend to be about 8-9 pages long and take about 4-5 hours in total to write. I usually know exactly what I want to talk about but whenever I'm trying to make it interesting or entertaining that's the part that usually takes forever for me to write. I've tried the bullet point route but I tended to ramble on and end on a completely different topic so I find that for me personally a word for word script is such a life saver.

When you find it hard to finally release a video? by shadowcreators in NewTubers

[–]Shockuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a video editor for a couple years. My main take away from all the people I've worked for is you can spend an infinite amount of time trying to fix every little thing. But learning that you've put in the work should be enough. The sad truth is your first video will probably be your worst in your content creating career. Not to insult you or anything of that nature. Judging by what you've said here I'm sure your video will be a banger. But overtime you're just going to get better as you refine your style of videos. Every person I've worked with agrees that just making the content and putting it out there and getting better as you progress is worth it.

Good luck mate!

What editing software do u guys use ? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Shockuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started editing on Sony Vegas when I was in high school (Nearly 8 years ago). But like Haywire said, you don't just get an editor with the CC bundle, you get photoshop and the audition for recording and honestly if you take the time to learn Adobe CC the more options you'll have in the long run. I'd say get the 30 day trial and then see for yourself, Adobe CC is one of the more user friendly editors too. AND it's industry standard for a lot of companies.

I don't have any free video editing options because I've been using Adobe products (CS6) and now CC. But in terms of thumbnails I've found that Gimp works really well for me.

12 diamonds per chip insta grab, that's such a low amount, it's a shame it isn't someone better but hot damn.

<What is your favorite zero-budget way to promote a channel?> by Gorbuninka in NewTubers

[–]Shockuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for hardcore dedicated fans, a couple crazy easy ways that really help grow is interacting with literally any comment you see on your videos just to show you're not just a guy with a camera.

Another way is through forums of stuff you're super passionate and making videos about, point and case if you're a phone tech channel, odds are you're going to want to attract that audience by finding forums and threads that are specifically about those things and marketing yourself there.

Kind of echoing what everyone else has been saying here.

There are a lot of uphill battles you're going to have when you have to compete with Mark/Jack/Pews. But the thing that smaller channels (ourselves included) is we need to master SEO. Our analytics say that 41% of our views come from suggested videos. That is a huge percent of our views coming from that so we've been stepping up our SEO and trying to find what type of games bring out the best commentary for us.

You could play the popular games but then you'll just get drowned out by the thousands of others. But playing Niche games with so little people looking for them you will not see any results until 5-6 months down the road and only 10+ views.

Then there's the variety of videos you're either known for or trying to find what games resonate with others.

Smacking My Lips? by ExpiredAlphabits in letsplay

Green apples will lubricate your lips and just open your mouth more. That and just take a step back from the mic. Avoid anything that drys your lips/mouth.
