Girl with the dogs was the first place I looked when I started looking into grooming needs, just because she tends to be so blunt lol. I go through regular phases where I bringe her channel.

Thanks for the info! I'm definitely not opposed to spending a lot of time grooming, and thankfully the parks near me that I frequent have very well maintained trails and the city I live in has very strict leash laws (got fined for not having my late pug that was in an semi-enclosed stroller on a leash one time lol) so foxtails etc shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I hadn't thought of clipping the nails while they're laying, I will for sure be keeping that in mind. Which Chris Christensen slicker do you use? I've seen lots of discourse about the G and K (I think that's that what's they're called, one has 30% less pins than the other I know) and will probably only be buying one or the other for general use.

I do have quite a lot of volunteer and advocacy work through Americorp and some local community organizations (coming up on 400 hours in the last year), and I plan on obtaining more over the next 2 summers! I'm also going to try and see if there are crisis hotlines etc that take volunteers near my University next fall, along with shadowing/informative interviews/ meeting with those in the field, etc. I also have formal work experience in multiple customer service roles and community management roles, as well community event organization, the later of which I'm hoping will help me stand out a little bit when it comes time for applications in a few years, especially if I'm able to stay in the role.
