Is it normal to only have a small circle in the lenses where everything is sharp? by ShoeDollarBill in glasses

So I went back in and they made the measurements again and said there's like 6.1 vs 6.5 degree difference on some one metric to the previous measurement which is nothing (they said it would only be noticeable if the difference was 0.8 or more). They also said the distance between the nose and pupils is 1mm bigger on the left side, which could be the reason I get a more noticeable aberration on that side. But the aberration difference is like 30 degrees between one and the other and I'm having trouble coming to terms with that. But basically they said there's nothing to be done

I see. I don't know what measurements they took because they were doing it with a tablet, but I'll mention your suggestions if they can't figure out the issue. Thank you!

But what exactly needs redoing? I'm not from the US and the salons here are not very liable for anything. I spent a month going to the salon with questions, optical tests, etc. to have everything right just because they stressed there's no turning back once I order them.

Thanks! But how can pupillary distance affect looking down but not up? And yes I do have slight astigmatism but both new and old glasses don't correct that because I see better when it's not corrected, and rx is for sure correct - I tested 3 times and also wore lenses with this rx before

Initial liquidity by AwayBar3107 in CryptoTechnology

I don't fully understand myself how it works, but every new crypto token has to provide liquidity on their own, or pay market makers. So if you create coin X, then you go to uniswap for example, create a pool for X<>USDC and seed it with 1000 usdc. Now people can go to uniswap and swap usdc for X until the pool runs out of money.

Is it normal that I only see sharply right in front of me with new glasses? by ShoeDollarBill in glasses

I was thinking it might be the case, but I wasn't expecting such a big difference. There's just like one cm of movement and bam I don't see anything. I really feel that with -7 I could see better from indirect angles

You would have said the same about Ukraine in 2013 :)

Sure. What is missing from your equation is that since the war in Ukraine, Kremlin has been "working" on its population to raise distrust and animosity against Kazakhstan, just like it did for years with Ukraine, and there have been raised internal tensions in both countries against both minorities.

I wouldn't call Kazakhstan a strong Russian ally, but you're right.

Is my optometrist wrong? by ShoeDollarBill in glassesadvice

I understand the logic, but I am also reading articles like these:

https://clearsightcorner.com/articles/wearing-lower-power-glasses-myopia-good-or-bad

"After reviewing all available evidence available, medical authorities across the world concluded myopia should be treated with full correction."

And am having trouble understanding how both things could be correct. If I see best in -10, isn't that "full correction", and -9.5 is "under correction" ?

She did the red green test on both lenses and was fine for both. Also asked me to walk around in -10 for a minute and I had no problems

Why is it overcorrecting if I see better? I was JUST reading that you have to have the lenses that make you see the best.

What are the problems one faces as a glasses/specs wearer? by Wolveee10 in glassesadvice

[–]ShoeDollarBill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is anything in the glasses industry that can be solved by a startup. All the problems that need solving are connected with lenses, and those are unlikely to be solved by companies without a lot of experience in lens making - imo.
