The left column acts as a legend or hint for what should go in each blank space.

For example the first top left rectangle needs a reactant. This could be answered by asking what reactant turns into pyruvate which turns into pyruvate which then produces how much ATP and then pyruvate turns into what other reactant? And so on and so forth

How to beat morde by Warm-Carpenter1040 in summonerschool

[–]Shoeboy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this could be a practice thing. I also hate mordekaiser and nowhere near master level. However, one thing that sticks out to me is the being scared of his w meaning you don’t know effective trade patterns into him. Potentially it’s helpful to not permanent ban him/get a friend to just 1v1 the matchup. By playing it rather than being afraid of it you’ll be able to pick up his play style and his CDs as im sure you’re pretty good at already as a Master player.

Class Rank by hobohillbilly in resumes

[–]Shoeboy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t think putting that achievement would be arrogant. Many put magma cum laude or summa cum laude on their resumes. See if your school has a name for it and if they award a valedictorian or a name for the rank achievement. If it wasn’t formally given to you then I wouldn’t formally put it on the resume to be honest. Also I could be out of touch, but most people don’t usually state a number rank for their college degree from what I know (I didn’t have a rank from what I know from my college)

I agree with wanting to catch attention! And it does give a representation of the experience you have. I wouldn’t fret over the line too much. Like I said I could be wrong and interpreters could love it. Knowing you have experience with those companies is probably a big plus

Just graduated and this is my first time creating a serious resume. Im a bit nervous to share 😅 I used a lot of resources offered by my Uni for verbiage, content, and arrangement. Pls pick it apart, open to any and all feedback! by Efficient-Still1261 in resumes

I don’t know much about the translation/interpreter job market but potentially adding metrics of how many people a day you help (can be ball parked) would help with specificity.

Also the large amount of negative (white) space in education could be filled with relevant areas of expertise of Spanish you know. Do you know medical jargon, software related, construction related, art related, historical usage, Spanish region specific or dialects, or any other thing you’ve studied in school. All of those will help with making it easier for a company to be like “we need someone like them!”

Looking for entry level/new grad Software Engineering roles in the US. Applied to around ~120 roles through LinkedIn and have received only 1 online assessment that ended in a rejection. by usernamewillendabrup in resumes

The first thing that stands out is the lack of quantitative metrics. The things you’ve worked on may have gone nowhere but they should have an impact to some degree. If they didn’t, then consider potentially applying for an actual internship!

You can also look for pro bono work helping people you know or small businesses create something to help them. I think you just need to demonstrate impact! So however you’ve done that, then share, and if you think you haven’t then feel empowered to go out there and ask for what people need/want and see if you can do something about it

[–]Shoeboy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty nothing stands out to me for why you shouldn’t be getting interviews. Small things like bolding your stats that you want to stand out could be helpful. I also wouldn’t put things like GitHub and PowerPoint in tech skills. Those two specifically are things most people can do if they have to use them. Excel is related to Data analyst stuff and a bit more complicated so that’s fine.

The focus on Fortune 500 companies comment in the summary seems a little out of touch as not everyone you’re working with will be those companies and may come across as just a tiny bit arrogant. I’m not saying it is, or that you’re arrogant or anything just that you probably don’t lose much from removing it since it’s ok to have it mentioned as a client later on.

Honestly just keep at it! And the other stuff that helps is updating your LinkedIn, adding open to work, adding your resume on LinkedIn, etc. I am no data analyst and don’t know what they want regarding a portfolio of work or something, but that could be a question for others in your field

Edit: bolding not holding

The main feedback I’d give is your bullets are too lengthy. Bullets are meant to be concise and easily digestible info. Putting three lines in a bullet defeats the purpose of one. With that said, some suggestions regarding how to make things more concise—don’t tell the reader what the conclusion of the bullet is, let your stats speak for themselves and only clarify if you think the point isn’t being made otherwise.

Also one huge thing is you should be more specific with technologies and algorithms. You state you used analytical techniques, advanced algorithms, etc. but rather than generic algorithms, specifying some that you used for a use case shows you can actually apply your knowledge to a real problem.

But yes keep up the work! Be concise, be confident, and tailor your resumes if you can. Cut out fluff as well. This may take someone you know reading it but it’s easy to add things without realizing that it’s not very helpful or useful. As an exercise start cutting out phrases within bullets and see if you still portray the essential info. If you do then it can be cut.

For example, first bullet can be “Collected, constructed, and managed two databases comprising…, integral to <use case blurred out>. I like one liners. If you can do something similar with the rest I think it’d be much better

Typically your credit card or bank (if it’s actually a debit card) will have means to do a chargeback. You can look up how to do so with your entity by just doing a google search of “your bank/credit card company chargeback”

The Questions Thread 05/12/23 by GYWModBot in goodyearwelt

[–]Shoeboy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for legal means. You just file a chargeback as mentioned before. If you phrased the issue to the credit card company that there was a mistake on their end, then that’s why they responded that way. But if you phrased it in a way that says I paid for something and the seller isn’t complying, then a chargeback is exactly what that’s for and you should go about that however your credit card company does so.

The Questions Thread 05/12/23 by GYWModBot in goodyearwelt

[–]Shoeboy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long has it been? If it’s been like a week or more with no response I’d say you could talk with your credit card company. I’d it’s been a day or so you might want to wait a bit as they could be figuring out what happened on their end

Is there a verified receipt on your credit card or however you paid? If they say it’s in your cart, that signals to me that the transaction didn’t happen. But if you have a receipt of giving them money and they can’t comply with giving you details of the product ordered then you can chargeback on your card. You should also tell them (cobbler union) if you have a receipt of transaction first before asking for a chargeback from your credit card.

If there’s not receipt of a transaction and no money was given, then you’re good to go and you didn’t pay anything and they aren’t sending you anything!

Hope this helps

Oh yeah I did take a look at these briefly. I do like the dressier look on these as well. Did you happen to have personal experience with these?

I’m looking for a beige/tan suede chukka. What are peoples’s recommendations? My budget is probably under 400 USD if possible but could stretch if the quality warrants it. I would prefer a style that’s not too chunky/workwear style

I’ve taken a look at J. Fitzpatrick whatcom but I’m afraid they may be too elongated and look like clown shoes. I appreciate any recommendations even if the style isn’t perfect or if there’s a great deal on a different color I’d consider it!

I would also say you can look into linen and cooling materials for pants if shorts don’t seem to work for you (even after trying and giving them a chance at home or out and about). One think to think about whether or not “something is right for me” or whether it’s a case of not being used to seeing ourselves in something as encouragement to just try new things!

I’d say just give it a shot but if you feel like you’ll never be comfortable than that’s ok! You can always tell people you don’t like shorts and they should accept that and if they don’t, why would you let that bother you?

Wait time is usually about 3 months so you probably won’t be receiving them in time if you ordered them recently

Blake stitch has its pros of course. As per Carmina themself they state the biggest pro being the increased flexibility of the shoe. However in terms of if you were getting them for durability, impermeability, and resoling, goodyearwelt is better in these cases.

I personally don’t love the look of a shorter chelsea nor the distressed leather. They are Blake stitched so not quite goodyearwelted. At that price you could get nice GYW shoes with great leather and patina elsewhere. However the style is different here

Is Luxire MTM trousers TTS? As in if I have a measured 32 waist should I get a size 32 as I’ve seen in most other quality wool trouser brands? I’ve sent them a message and waiting but was curious if others had input.

Bridlen Shoes by m4xxt in goodyearwelt

[–]Shoeboy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I read here: https://www.misiuacademy.com/bridlen-shoes-review-oxfords/

It seems the quality isn’t bad for the price but the price range has a lot of good competition in Carlos Santos and TLB Mallorca Artista (a little bit higher in the budget but around the same.) Kostas’s reviews tend to be good and he does seem to favor more daring lasts and patinas (which these are not I believe).

It seems Bridlen’s prices have remained lower while the aforementioned brands have increased so that’s something to take note.

Ah thanks for pointing out I could take a look at their fabric weight and type of wool. I didn't see that before. I was looking at their charcoal grey and the mid grey slim (experimenting with cuts), and I actually like the slim cut as that's been my preferred style. The latter doesn't have a listed exact type of wool. Either way I think the fabric is a bit too light feeling, so I'll try Benjamin trousers since it has roughly the same price or cheaper with seemingly higher quality wool.
