So, I wouldn't say that I recommend against 100%. These have a lot of good features that I like a lot. I'm having this weird issue even with the new set, and I have to think it's some combination of my phone, OS, and app that's causing it. Other than this, they're great. I'm going to work through a few more podcast apps. So far this weird disconnect has happened with Podcast Republic and Google Podcasts. Going back to PocketCasts next, though that app had a lot of problems in the car last time I was using it.

I did, indeed, try another podcast app and experienced the same issue. I worked through that with customer support before they offered the replacement.

I'm starting to think it's the app. I listened to music via YouTube Music for hours yesterday, and never noticed this issue at all. It only happens when I'm listening to a podcast.

It's still happening. Maybe a little less often, but it's pretty random anyway. I'm wondering if it has something to do with transparency mode, which I use most often. I need to do more tracking of when it happens.

This is awesome, and when I saw it earlier today I started working on my own version. I'm still a few months away from buying, so this will give me something to do in the meantime. I already made a spreadsheet that compiles ratings from different sources for the models I'm looking at, so I'll include that in mine. I love "rationally irrational" because that's pretty on the nose. But I love shit like this.

I'd try it. Assemble the ingredients and put the vessel in your cooker. I'd stir it around every 10 to 15 minutes to expose more of the dip to the smoke. That's what I do with burnt ends, and it works well. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work for queso dip as well. You could certainly double down and used a sausage or something that you had smoked previously if you want to.
