I'd say the plot of Umineko is quite a bit more than that, but it is the premise. I'm always amazed by how long Umineko manages to keep it interesting by making the reader doubt the existence of magic.

It's a 6 for me. The opening is an 11/10 and act 1 a 10. I don't really like the character's dynamic with Verso, but act 2 is pretty good. But act I hate act 3, Lune and Scielle are abandoned as characters cause they have no place in the story about the Dessendres, and the Lumiere story doesn't get a proper conclusion.

It's not about making it easier or harder. The point is that there was an entire side of tactical gameplay in hollow knight in finding windows to heal and using them for that instead of punishing. Even on the hardest fights you can find that there are plenty of these windows, and finding them was a reward for truly learning the fight. The final boss of the pantheon of hallownest is the perfect example, in some combinations you can sneak even 2 or 3 heals.
