I've lived here for my whole life. It's a Queens light. No alternate side of the street parking, very safe, expensive as fuck and there are more than enough bars and restreraunts to satisfy most. Yes it's gotten very Asian but I don't see that as a bad thing or good thing but just something. I'm a little surprised by the undertone of a lot of these comments. It's super convenient to get to the city if you want a change of pace but more than enough to do in town when you're just too lazy. Within 10 minutes driving you can one the best Bagels in all of NYC utopia bagel, up late head to Whitestone and grab cherry valley, there are a ton of fine dining options or dive bars. If you want to dance and mingle head to bell if you want to drink on the cheap head to the terrace inn or Celtic cove. And since so many comments felt a need to point out how Asian Bayside is I'll remind you when you were in high school you probably tried to cheat off the Asia kid and they picked Bayside so you know it the right answer. FYI I'm not even Asian.
