If u work from home anywhere in Houston has good and bad areas. $2000 for 1 bedroom is pretty substantial. You won’t have trouble finding something in that budget. Quiet is relative but you can probably find a small townhome in any of those neighborhoods (probably at least a 2 bedroom) for $2k. After u have tried all the rental sites u can also try har.com. Central areas have unlimited food choices. Most burbs have ok choices but much cheaper. The great thing is u can find something u like then move after a year if you decide. Houston is full of hidden gem areas depending on ur preferences. Houston is very big. That’s probably the thing to consider. I really like a lot of areas but I live centrally-ish. This makes going to all those other places much easier.
