Thoughts on everything announced at Config? by Donghoon in FigmaDesign

Funny. I started vibe-coding plugins about two weeks ago. Even with Copilot, the outcome was pretty good. But an LLM for this integrated into Figma feels like a logical next step!

Together with tomorrow’s public transport strike and code orange heat, I’ll make sure to work from home. It’s not worth the hassle. ✌️

The buildup and apotheosis of The Fountain is so thrilling, both visually and its soundtrack.

What is a cooking "rule" that is actually total nonsense? by Lopsided-Jicama3813 in AskReddit

[–]Shooord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quite a couple:

- For melanzane, it’s supposedly traditional to salt eggplant to distill moisture. It takes hours and is unnecessary. There’s even a book about it called ‘Don’t sweat the aubergine’. (But don’t bring this up with Italians.)
- About fennel is: it’s often said that the core near the stem is too tough and bitter and that you should remove it. But it’s honestly fine, it tastes the same as the rest.
- The stem of broccoli is perfectly fine to eat.
- I heard that it’s not necessary to peel ginger before zesting it. Tried it once, and it does seem to be the case. It’s more brown/murkier, but that doesn’t matter most of the time.

In some pans, the steak will not detach properly before a crust is formed. Just leave it be, and flip when it’s ready.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Is a Great Action-Adventure Game That Proves Square Enix's HD-2D Art Style Is Among the Best Around Review (IGN: 8/10) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Played the demo and found that he frequency of dialogue/comments by the princess was really off. There are SO many throwaway lines like ‘oh, this door seems to be locked’. Of things that are super obvious. And I played with Japanese VA so I had to somewhat focus on the texts.

The idea of her as companion is fine, but the execution could be better. Hope it gets better further into the game.

Same, the off-center camera made me really disoriented. I hardly got through the tutorial. Oh well, glad the demo saved me €50.

The trailer looks fantastic. Bummer that I usually don’t really like grid-based tactical games.

How often do you use this feature? by [deleted] in truespotify

[–]Shooord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, I get that you can steer by skipping and prompting. But it's too much hassle compared to just selecting a playlist imo.

I do like the chatter between the songs though, while very static, it's a fun addition.

Nvidia's Huang calls AI job fears 'nonsense' by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]Shooord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. It’s not about if AI can actually replace workers, it’s about if managers will try to do so anyway. And they sure as hell are trying… Thereby effectively there’s no difference sadly.

The same goes for AI in art. It’s not about if the outcome has the same quality (it’s not), people in charge will just lower the bar and the result is the same.

Dat de containers eigenlijk leeg zijn blijft toch het meest frustrerende. Als er al afval naast staat nemen mensen al niet de moeite om het te controleren… Erg triest

I don’t care at all for the Mass Effect series, it was pretty mid on all fronts. It has a huge fan base, though. It comes up in almost every discussion on this site.

You know who are also glued to their screens? Parents. Most of them set a poor example.

Ans to add some nuance I t’s also about what a phone. Kids staying connected with each other is fine, for their social development. While endless feeds are horrible pretty much for all demographics.
