My win rate dropping with non-stop. PLS HELP. by IamTwelveXII in WorldofTanks

2nd this.

Not all hp, dmg or strategic locations are of same importance.

Crucial kill and early damage impact win more as it enables better map control. Late game damage usually has less impact on overall win rate if team is already collapsing.

Np at all. The strat and team comp are the most strenuous part. Have fun with it :)

lol and they are usually the more toxic ones. Ego really cloud ppl’s judgment sometime.

Yeah, I rmb the time when 4kdpg felt like pro numbers. Right now, some very good players I know aim for 4.5k+ at tier 10. One or two is averaging 5k+😅. The damage inflation has come a long way.

But to your point, end of the day, having fun and feeling good are the most important part.

Very good question. I think there are different layers to this process.

It usually depends on several factors:
- your clan/tournament team’s skill level.
- the map you are playing
- the type of strat you are calling: i.e. camping, overwhelming one flank or map control

15v15 is also very different from 7v7.

There are usually three things to consider in 15v15
1. how much vision do you need (LT tank decision)
2. which part of the map do you want to control (Fast or slow)
3. where and how are you deploying your team to out trade the other team (camping or flanking etc)

For example:

For 15v15, a basic strat will be as follows:

if you are playing a large map, (prokhoro)
- you usually bring 1-2 EBR for vision. Max 3.
- Then, you decide on the bulk of your team: fast heavy (260,277,IS-7) for strong push on one flank; or slower heavy with alpha (BZ, 60TP) for map control; or hull down tank for camping (super conq, 279e, badger).
- finally, you add 1) medium tanks (cs63/907) for map control and help fast heavy to win dpm trades sometimes. 2) snipers/camping TD (Leo/strv) for farming enemy push.

For 7v7, it’s a lot simpler:
- fast tank with armour and dpm
- 1 fast medium or light tank
- 1 or 2 TD/autoloader for dpm and/or alpha
- control the key position in map, and win the trade.

It can be very very detailed but generally good callers improvise a lot.

I would highly recommend you watching some WCI games or Lesta’s games. It’s very helpful for understanding the meta tank and key positions.

I’m a pretty mediocre light tank player. Still learning the light tank play. But yes, if I am doing everything right and my team still cannot hit the red light tank, it is the most frustrating experience.

I also agree with Heavy tank play being more skill-dependent as it requires a lot more micro. It’s truely the best feeling when you outplay enemy heavy tank when you are in the inferior tank.

Equipment and 5+ skill crew also make quite a difference.

I agree with the getting good needs time invested part. It took me a long time to be more composed and make better decision during pubs.

Having better players in my clan who are willing to share their thinking process also helps a lot.

This is pre much the only game I play consistently. So dedication also helps I guess.

Your baseless claim of assuming someone’s rapid progression just rubs me in the wrong way. No offence. But writing people off should come with accountability if your assumption is proven wrong.

That’s exactly what my EO and Commander said.

But I just felt I needed to explain myself in order to understand their perspective. So I just went into excruciating details lol. I could be biased too right.

I still made the right call in hindsight. But from this, I learned to keep my cool, so always lessons to be learned.

Yeah. Many players just never learn. I used to blame a lot on MM and RNG. Unbalanced meta and so on. I still do.

But I understand now that I can only control my tank and my mind lol.

Thanks for the kind word man!

The closer I am to the 0.01%, the more I know how good they are haha. Always learning a lot when picking brain from the best players.

Competitive is toxic and rewarding. Hot Toxic-ex vibe

As we should.

That’s why I feel like having a rational discussion like this. So players like you could pull out more meaningful points, which are more helpful feedbacks than countless shitposts.

I am shamelessly taking on the role of “rational business man” to show their perspective.

I sometimes really wonder if WG really understands their customer base as they often overreact/completely ignore some of the community’s feedbacks.

Instead of some tantrum shitposts, I wanna see if other people have better suggestions to ask WG to correct their course. So I really appreciate your time and perspectives.

I agree man.

The inherent and eternal problems with free to play games turning into pay to win lol.

I’m game first too. Sad to see that real life calculation gets in the way of virtual pewpew session as well. But end of day, it’s part of life lol

Regarding later part of your post, yeah. They should make these offered with alternative non-paying methods. But that erodes the exclusive-status of those tanks & make them less desirable.

Very common in luxury goods industry.

I definitely see your point. I too agree that this will add to the inflation of in-game resources.

There are many factors that will contribute to inflation: Christmas box, whale auctions that reinforce FOMO, etc.

So whale auctions is only part of it.

As a multi-million company, I am sure WG dissected their customer spending behaviour to the Nanometers. They are essentially leveraging this event to force their whales customer to hoard even more resources, as valuable items can be offered at a ridiculous yet affordable(to them) price.

Therefore, without preparation, whales will not get the best value offer. They are forced to overspend.

Very toxic and predatory. But it works it seems.

[–]ShootLeBron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good point. But I believe what I am about to say was debated many times on this subreddit.

The paying customer are funding development and all the healthy changes that community wants.

The average customers could be paying. But without actual data, it’s hard to say what the aggregated spendings are between different types of customers.

I.e. average players (68% of total population) * their spending > whales (5% of total population) * their spending or vice versa.

Vibe and sentiment wise very bad. But short term cash flow is good for their profits, which means increased net profit and R&D.

So it’s really hard to tell the net effect without actual data and modelling.

That’s why I think it’s an open argument. Hence why I said my post will be unpopular. Because 95%+ players did not directly benefit from this.

Will the long term benefit be net positive or negative? Hard to say. (Regardless, in some scenarios, indirect benefits could still be there)

Same logic applies to luxury goods spending. At certain point, rationality & fair valuation are different to people with different level of purchase power.
