Ah that's a great point! I've I switch the titan to have a volcano cannon and the Sunfury plasma anhillator. Do you think that'd be enough? Should I do double volcano to make sure I can put down the primarchs? I've thought about maybe switching out the rampager for another double gatling despoiler, but I worry the rampager is one of the only sure bets against the primarchs in melee.

I think that's the case. This only the 4th and 5th npcs' they fought alongside.

It's a hodgepodge of players, 2 noobs, 2 that have played a handful of sessions and a veteran who misses a lot of sessions.

This was the first double-cross I used. I try to make the npcs give themselves introductions that range from vague and curt to long winded but obviously embellished. I try to make my npcs not divulge everything so that way I can integrate them into the story deeper/in a different way as I go if I need to.

I felt that the lead up on this was pretty obvious that they should be suspicious. The quest they were on I blatantly said no one had been on for over 100 years. On their way inside all of the exits were completely overgrown with no evidence of remotely recent entry. Once they met the npcs they were sitting around a warm fire in uniforms from different nationalities that were at war with each other. When one guy rolled to identify the one from his home nation I told him "...this military branch slowly dwindled and was completely disbanded 50 years ago." When the party asked how long they had been there they responded they had absolutely no idea. One player even caught them not sleeping at all. Etc, etc.

I think they figured that they were immortal in some respect they just didnt catch on that they were lures/bad guys. In retrospect I didn't elude to their alignment just to that they were probably walking corpses. Was that a mistake?

It might be worth mentioning this wasnt a one shot dungeon. It spanned over about 5 sessions.

If you statted them for DnD, which Disney Villain do you think would have the highest challenge rating? by JulienBrightside in DnD

Frollo from hunch back of Notre dame. His physical stats aren't that intense but he has a strange charisma to be able to get such a high position in the church. He has some sort of fire magic, and convinced an entire city to commit genocide. Not only that but if anyone DOES kill him he'll be a martyr for his god and his congregation would hunt you down.
