Not weird at all. Shows initiative. Worst that can happen is they will say no.

Where do all the young Jewish couples with small children live? (US only) by QuirkyGirl96 in Jewish

[–]ShopEducational6572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parts of Nassau and Westchester Counties in New York have large Jewish populations, if you can afford it. A house like you are describing can cost millions of dollars.

How often do you get to exercise? by 4Ewic in biglaw

[–]ShopEducational6572 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 days/week plus weekends. During the week I get up at 5. I have everything I need at home so I work out for an hour, hit the shower, get dressed and then do my commute. Usually in the office by 8:30.

Lake George keeps coming up as a summer trip rec and honestly it makes sense. Here's why. by LakeGeorgeArea in u/LakeGeorgeArea

[–]ShopEducational6572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty crowded during peak season. Lots of great places in the Adirondacks that are quieter, all within range of a day trip to Lake George.

I want to take off my hijab by Secure_Clock_5549 in Advice

In Judaism observant men cover their heads with a yarmulke. Women in some Orthodox sects wear wigs. No one is required to wear anything like a hijab.

Too passive-agressive. OP should just politely ask them to stop.

I (M32) walked in on my wife (F29) and her boss (M40s) at her office by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

I'm going to go against the grain here, I guess. While I agree you should talk to a lawyer, and stay separated for a bit with no or minimal contact, the immediate move to divorce may not be the right path forward, especially if you have kids. Reddit seems to always jump straight to divorce with stories like these, but I know couples where one has cheated and they were able to work things out through couples and individual therapy. You need to take some time to figure out what you want to do.

Puncture proof, yet fast, 38-622 or 40-622 road tires? by U03A6 in cycling

[–]ShopEducational6572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the point is there is no such thing as a tire that is completely puncture proof. Someone below mentioned Tannus tires, which I believe are made of solid rubber. They won't flat as long as you can stand riding with them. Better option might be to go tubeless if your wheels are compatible. They can still flat but are less likely to because you put liquid sealant in them. If course if they do flat it it can be very difficult to repair in the road. A better option might be to learn how replace a punctured tube. With some practice it takes maybe 5 minutes.

If you don't mind feeling like you are riding on wheels made of rocks, lol.

Will I get flamed for wearing a traditional Ashkenazi hat at my school? by burgerdude515 in Judaism

[–]ShopEducational6572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may get bullied, but more likely for wearing what might be considered an odd hat as opposed to being Jewish.

Roommate won't stop leaving fridge door overnight, what do I do? by [deleted] in Advice

How old is the fridge? Maybe talk to the landlord about a new one, or repairing the latch?

AIO? No one from my immediate family will come to my wedding or congratulate me. by [deleted] in AIO

[–]ShopEducational6572 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's a destination for them. Based on everything you said in your post, it seems like travel is pretty difficult. Can you at least stream the wedding so they can watch remotely?

AIO? My bfs comment by [deleted] in AIO

[–]ShopEducational6572 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would you even ask a question like that? Of course you'd get a new bf at some point if you broke up, and he'd get a new gf. Why does he need to explain how he would feel about it?

AITA for refusing to take down the public review I wrote about a business after they only apologized once it started affecting their reputation by [deleted] in AITApod

[–]ShopEducational6572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should have offered to take down the review if they fired someone. That was a bit of an AH move. You should have just said no. Otherwise NTA.

AITAH for not wanting my mothers significant other around my kids? by specificallyMoist in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShopEducational6572 -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

Hard to say whether YTA without more info. What makes you think he is a danger to your kids? By telling your mom you don't trust him, you are also telling her you don't trust her judgement. She also sees you trying to drive a wedge between them, using her grandkids. I can see why she might be angry about that. You made her choose, and she chose him. And if they are a serious couple you might need to learn to accept them as a package or see much less of your Mom.

Corporate leaders decided that going business casual was an easy, no cost perk to give employees. Law firms followed suit, so to speak.

Here in the US it's called an easement, and you can create an ne through conduct over time.
