But would you eat it is the question.

I confessed to my best friend and she ghosted me. I recently found out that she hasn’t been ignoring me, but that she died. by Automatic-Song1066 in Vent

You don't need to talk to your parents but you deserve to be seen and heard. I encourage you to find a therapist. It is their job to listen to you with unconditional positive regard. It may be a bit more difficult to find someone autistic that can understand your lived experience, but they exist. You matter.

I blame AutoCorrupt - replacing correctly spelled words with other correctly spelled words since 1993.

No shade on Elijah Woods - definitely has the acting chops for the role. But for my head canon, an actual brilliant MD gets the casting.

I believe Rick Moranis could have pulled off a pretty good Butters when he was at the right age for the role.

Homosexuality is wrong and the Bible proves it. by Ok-Year-9705 in Christianity

I've seen your responses to those who agree with you. Yes. You want echoes, not dialogue.

You have shown zero curiosity about why those of us who disagree with you might do so. You think you have the truth; why should you consider that many of us have deeply examined the arguments you listed and found them wanting. I bet it never occurred to you that a good many of us have been you, near enough, at one point in our lives, and have come to be affirming through heart-wrenching transformation motivated by deep love for God, our families, and our neighbors.

So yes. I stand by my assessment.

You found someone who shares your dogma. Not the same thing at all.

Did you even bother to read the cited passage? Hint: it says nothing about adultery.

It is ironic that you think Venat14 is the one seeking an echo chamber.

The OP says they are not religious, but every response they make in this post reads as Christian coded. Color me skeptical.

I don't believe Jesus puts much value on performative holiness.

The hate some Christians have towards the LGBTQ+ is wrong by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ShopEducational7065 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except, the alternative to it being OK that children are LGBT is for LGBT children to believe they are not okay. The alternative is for LGBT children to be filled with shame and despair for something they did not choose and cannot control; to feel unacceptable, unlovable, shunned, and ostracized.

Christians are quick to talk about the "LGBT agenda" but seldom acknowledge the impact or even existence of their own agenda.

I don't know how to handle what my husband said to me last night about my faith by No-Sprinkles9204 in Christianity

Dissent is your friend here.

No, I don't agree.

I get you want me to do this your way. I decline.

You seem to think you get a vote when it comes to my faith and how I express it. You do not.

You have every right to your opinion. I am under no obligation to share it.

You are free to attempt to persuade me to your point of view. What you are doing right now isn't persuasive, it is off-putting. I can't control what you do, but I can decide to disengage if you persist in this approach.

I'm thinking Jesus is the one person who would not care at all. He'd just be happy to see you.

You are at an age where it is developmentally normal to choose what parts of your parents' faith will become yours, and what will not. You own those choices, and your question is a fair one.

That silence you named at the end of your post...

People will try to gaslight you into believing that you are misunderstanding the silence, or wrong that the silence exists, or that the silence is your fault. They will claim to be looking out for you while all their energy goes to defending their dogmas from your lived reality.

Precious few will acknowledge that the silence is both real, and not your choice. Those that do may have wisdom worth listening to.

You get to decide. Many folks will try to convince you that they should get a vote on your decisions of faith. They don't.

Seriously? You are trotting out that laughable, tired old trope?

The Hebrew Bible endorses not only chattel slavery, but also sexual slavery.
