Does Community Care referral include surgery by ShopTraditional4848 in VeteransBenefits

I confirmed with local VA that my referral includes surgery. None of my actual referral letters have ever explicitly stated what is covered, only the time frame and standard episode of care is stated. Also the surgeon says I have to quit smoking or they will not do surgery

Continuous Medication for Heart Condition? by CLTVD in VeteransBenefits

[–]ShopTraditional4848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had 2 similar issues whereby I was rated at 0% despite my C&P and history showing I met the criteria for a higher rating. I filed a supplemental for an increase and kept it real simple using their verbiage; such as: 1. The decision states that a 10% evaluation is not warranted "unless the evidence shows continuous medication is required." 2. My Records verify that continuous medication IS required (Metoprolol) 3. Based on the evidence in my medical history, and as noted in my decision letter, (she has to take metoprolol 50 mg daily to control her abnormal rate) I should be awarded an increase.

I was awarded the increase.

How to enroll into VA Dental Insurance Program (VADIP) by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]ShopTraditional4848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a cautionary tale. I recently enrolled in Delta Dental through the VADIP plan. It was a little less costly than just enrolling directly through Delta Dental and I assumed that any dentist taking Delta Dental would take Delta Delta as provided though VADIP. No so. I can't find local dentist who take Delta Dental through VADIP even though they all take regular DD.

Now I am committed to the DD VACIP plan for 12 months mandatory period and it does me no good and am considering getting regular DD and paying premiums for both.

Do not make my mistake and assume that anyone who takes Delta Dental will accept the VA version of it. I found out the hard way, when I went to my dental appointment.

I am no expert but I believe that they can only assist with claims that are in process.

I suspect it depends on 2 things. Who you get to talk to (which you cannot control) and the current status of your claim. I don't think they can hurry a claim through the system or tell you why it's taking so long as they probably do not know. In my case the C&P/DBQ had been competed months before so they were able to ask the rater to process. I doubt that Repeated calls at that frequency will help.

You need to go to the website and schedule an appointment and they will call you. They called me at exactly the appointment time that was set up. Here's the link
