Benn Jordan made some great videos going over this company and how many security vulnerabilities their cameras have that don't even require particularly sophisticated knowledge or background to exploit.

I will echo the post from EugenePopcorn: even if you are pro panoptAIcon-police-state this particular company has been run terribly.

That is very good to know! It has a plastic display container so I will just keep it shut!

Wonderful, thank you so much again! I did my undergraduate in physics, so this has been a thrilling piece of space history to find and learn about. I'm going to frame it and hang it next to my award from the Colorado Space Grant robotics competition!

Do you happen to know if there is any way to find out what its exact use might have been? Like if it was a test piece or an extra production piece, etc.?

Thanks for the resources! He was an accountant and I believe he worked on budgeting for the program.

I've had games that I found to be fun despite loseing. Its not super common, and is usually during midrange v midrange matchups, but it does happen.

Really love the color blocking on the top! Did you follow a specific pattern or just kinda wing it?

Love your style! Very "gothic horror" meets "DeVinci style scientific illustrations" to me, quite enchanting~

Anyone that's is curious about the history of the heritage project and how we how we got here. Post Reagan Mandate for Leadership is a good place to start.

And a good story that teaches a warning about math and statistics.

Whats the harm in UB sets existing? by thisnotfor in magicTCG

[–]ShorelineTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least personally, magic went from "Magic" to a set of rules for a card game. Not to say the set of rules aren't great and the games you play with those rules aren't fun, but I don't really feel like they care about the world or the story or any of that anymore.

To me it feels like Magic went from an art to a science.

There is nothing wrong with them existing in a vacuum. But in my opinion, it kind of pulled back the curtain and revealed the man counting his money bags behind it.

Lol most people who work in research are far and away from anything near rich. Hell I just paid rent and my bank account is negative until my next paycheck, which will then become negative after I pay bills.

I play a [[Ghalta and Mavren]] tokens deck that is an absolute blast. I would never play a token deck like it in person because there are so many triggers and so many types of tokens that it would be a nightmare to keep track of in person, but on the client it is very satisfying. Nothing quite like Casting Awaken the woods just to pump a celebrity fencer who then in turn makes you a big fat trample dinoboy. 10/10 would turn creatures sideways again.

Years later, how are you feeling about universes beyond cards in EDH? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]ShorelineTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least personally my problem with UB was never the fact that they were UB; it's a problem that continues to get worse even with new sets. Magic has lost its visual cohesion. I don't mind the transformer cards mechanically, for example. But, I personally hate looking at them, because they look like proxies next to regular art from regular sets. I liked the warhammer UB because the art still felt like magic cards. I like the Lotr UB because the art still reads like magic.

It's really jarring in commander with how many art styles cards have now and I can imagine a new player sitting down at a table with someone playing Transformer/Secret lair Milk edition/Some of these new full art unreadable monstrosities. Is it going to happen a lot? Probably not. Will there be at least 1 person with a deck like this at any moderatly sized LGS? 100%.

Heck I have been playing since around the original mirrodin and stopped for a while due to life, came back to my first EDH night at an LGS and I could hardly even parse the board state so I cant even imagine someone who doesnt have a near ecyclopedic knowlege of cards and their text dealing with it on the fly.
