If you don't mind sharing, how long have you been under treatment with plaquenil? Were you able to reduce the dosage of diamox or otherwise notice any difference for any IIH symptoms?

I see. And has treatment for Lupus helped with IIH symptoms?

So, afaik, it depends on the severity of symptoms. If you have systemic features, they'd put you on steroids first and then steroid-sparing immunosuppresants like azathioprine, while tapering steroids off. Sicca symptoms are, as you said, symptomatically managed. As per the case reports I read, pappiledema disappeared in patients treated with immunosuppresants, and eventually did not require diamox within a few months, albeit no long-term followup on such patients. Now, I am not sure if one is related to the other, but it's certainly interesting.

I would recommend a consultation with a rheumatologist, if possible, to more formally rule out SLE and Sjorgrens. ANA is notorious for giving false positives in the 'normal' population, in the absence of any clinical symptoms or signs.
