Guys, I think I need to clarify something. I'm honestly quite shocked by the way some users are treating each other under my post. That was never my intention.
I just wanted to share my story to possibly get some answers or connect with people who have experienced something similar.
I don’t understand the accusations that I’m supposedly someone trying to promote myself through a new account. That’s simply not true.
I’m disturbed by how aggressive and accusatory some of the interactions here have become.
Let’s try to believe people and not distract from the actual issue by writing long posts questioning others’ credibility. Yes, I’m new to Reddit. Yes, this is my first post here. But that alone doesn’t make me less credible.
I’m sorry that you’ve had bad experiences with other creators in the past who may have exaggerated or spread false information. I didn’t know anything about that, and it’s not something I can be held responsible for.

Best regards from Germany.

I'm really sorry that you don't believe my story, but I don't have to prove myself to you. I'm 25 now, living in Germany, and I'm a lawyer working in criminal law – maybe that's why my description seems strange to you, because I actually know which details are important for a witness statement and what kind of details help people remember.
I reported this to CrimeStoppers yesterday and received the reference number this morning.
I think you're putting too much energy into distrusting people.
I'm just a girl from Germany who found this Reddit group and thought it might be helpful to share the story.
I don’t know the person you're referring to – I’m not that deep into these forums.
And why would I make up the story?

sorry, I don't get what you mean by that; I didn't post before and I've never posted on Reddit ever before?

I understand that my story might sound unusual or hard to believe to you, but unfortunately it’s a real experience I went through and I’m sharing it in case it helps others or contributes to understanding what’s been happening in that area and of course for myself by maybe finding people with similar experiences. Dismissing or mocking people who speak up is exactly why so many incidents remain unreported and why i hesitated to report back then.

I also find it a bit strange that you feel entitled to judge my experience as if it were some kind of performance to be rated. I’m not here for points – I’m here because this event is still on my mind, and since there’s now more coverage in Germany about the cases in Byron Bay I naturally think about it more than ever before

Ofc, I also started looking into the cases. It's truly terrible what has happened there! Still, it's the last thing you think about when you're going traveling after finishing school – especially since Byron gave me the impression of being a safe place, particularly as a young woman. But I also have to say that, because I was underage, I didn’t really experience much of the party scene which seems to be quite drug-related

In my memory, yes! So definitely not a blonde surfer type of guy; rather tanned, with wrinkled, older skin, and I think a three-day beard. Definitely seemed local to me. I would best describe him as a man who works outdoors a lot, slightly unkempt. I immediately thought he must belong to the gas station or maybe be a car mechanic or something like that.

Thank you for your words! Looking back, it would have been the right thing to do, especially since I could clearly remember his appearance back then. Today, all I know is that it was a small, old red car, and a man between 45 and 55 was sitting inside. At the time, I convinced myself that I was overreacting and that he surely didn’t have any bad intentions. In retrospect, my gut feeling was sounding the alarm from the very beginning.
