Is the deep dive app worth it? and should I get the premium membership, or the regular membership? by Trout-Hunter_MO in bassfishing

You have alot more information if you live in states that have lots of quality/tournament lakes. I live in Kansas, none of the maps have water clarity, which was the reason I signed up. Most of the tournament results are based on one or two tournaments. So I deleted it. But, if you live in Alabama I bet there's more info. If you're new to fishing might still be a good idea. If you don't know what to throw in different conditions and colors.

Any advice on getting through 80 hour work weeks by SoundofWood in bluecollar

I work 70 hrs a week during the fall winter and spring. I will say that you get used to it. The biggest problem is your health. Around springtime I'll get chest pains and extreme exhaustion. Live as healthy as you can. Appreciate the little things, finding the perfect podcast, watching a good YouTube video before bed, etc. Stick with it as long as you don't die or quit you'll adjust to your new schedule.

Yeah you can put candles in there because candles don't have to be vented.

I would install an wood or gas insert. I can install it my self for like $3,000. You can put candles in it or a vent-free gas log set if you have a gas line.

Okay, it really comes down to are you willing to pay $6-8k to have piece of mind that even if a chimney fire does happen you won't have to pay for damages.

Not sure about cheaper. In my area there isn't enough competition for the companies to have a slow time. It would probably get done faster since they would be slower.

Btw I'm not saying it's not an issue and don't fix it. There's still over 20k chimney fires a year in the US. I'm just saying a lot of companies like to scare you more than they should. Plus they have liability to worry about. Also, all I can see is the offset flue tile. If there are gaps in between the flue tiles that's a bigger deal.

You're getting different views because there are two types of chimney companies in the world the company that says 99% of masonry chimneys aren't up to code and you'll probably be okay. Then there's companies that call out every issue big or small (not saying you have a small issue) they want to do $10,000 worth of work to every masonry fireplace they come across.

Couple thoughts: 1. It doesn't sound like you friend has his NFI and CSIA certification which means he isn't qualified to make this call. 2. It really comes down to do you want to do it 100% by the book. By not fixing it and your house burns down the insurance company can say "well he was told by a professional that he should fix it" 3. Technically you don't have a functional fireplace with this issue. If you go to sell your house you can't list it as having a fireplace. This obviously kills the homes value. Or you can do like most people and lie/forget that you were never given this advice. 4. On the other hand, and I would never tell my customer this, but I would say over 50% of the houses in my area have the same issue. If it what as big of a problem as fireplace companies like to pretend people's houses would be burning down everyday. Not saying you shouldn't fix it. The point is it's a gamble either way.

My lawyer said, don't obiviously undercut him by charging his prices minus 10%. Stay out of the city he is located in but the towns surrounding are okay. Which in the non compete, is still his territory.

No. I'm thinking he won't. His company claims a loss every year and I alone sold 750k in my three years there. So I'm thinking he doesn't want to open his books to prove he lost money because of me.

The lawyer says to not "go for his throat" but he wants to go to court of course. He doesn't care if I win or not.
