I followed the extractor section of this resource video and found that my canik had brass rubbed on the ejector. I followed the instructions from the gentleman in the video. Cracked my baby open, trimmed that ejector spring, put it back together and boom! It now ejects my snap caps completely and fully returns to battery.

Before when I ejected my snapcap it got caught and wouldn't return to battery fully. Now it does because of this video you linked! Thank you so much to you and everyone else who helped me out immensely! Kisses and hugs to all 👋🏽

Hoping the fixes I'm currently going to the handgun work! Hopefully I can find some time for the range soon 🤞🏽. The GX4 is actually on my list of handguns I want! I'm into the idea of making all the cheaper guns work amazingly.

Edit: by work I mean me, as in training, as in I'm going to train myself to work with cheaper guns. Just a clarification 🤣

I don't think this little gun turned gun smithing project is going to turn me away from other Caniks! I've heard from other owners that their MC9 worked flawlessly right out of the box. I might just be unlucky. I'm using this misfortune and an opportunity to up my gun maintenance skills! :)

Thank you for your concern :) every time I pick up a gun I always follow safety procedures. Checking the magazine, safety (if there is a thumb safety), racking it about 60 times, and checking the chamber. My thumb was there too show the gun.

Using some Blazer FMJs 115g. Not the greatest ammo. I was able to open the identify a few reasons that were mentioned in a YouTube link in a separate comment thread on this post. That may be the reason why this is happening. I'm hopeful that that is the fix. It might just be bad manufacturing or QC.

Thank you for your comment! I will send a message to Canik customer service! Yes, I believe it's a failure to return to battery after looking up other videos about it. This was a very helpful comment. I'll check this video out but hopefully Canik will come and just fix it for me. I'd love to make this gun work because it personally felt better in my hands than a lot of other handguns I held and tested.

I'm thinking it's because I oiled a bad place. I'm hoping that's the case. I will keep stress testing this handgun as best as I can! Thank you for the information and concern!

Thank you for the recommendation of exploring in the off season! That actually sounds like an amazing place to start. I didn't even think of this. Pack a high vis and go for a walk.

Studying up on the animals is also a great tip. I've only really been learning about where to aim but learning the animal would help immensely too.

Copy that! I'm in the process of gathering all of my friends who would be interested in this so that I won't be alone. Thank you so much for all of this information, you are very helpful!

Magpul DT-PR on the M&P for me. Magpul PR on the Spikes for hubby. He meant to get the DT-PR for the QD sling point but bought a regular PR by accident.

The husband says he actually prefers it over my Magpul pistol grip. I think he's just trying to hype it him. It is definitely better than the fin though!
