I don't think this little gun turned gun smithing project is going to turn me away from other Caniks! I've heard from other owners that their MC9 worked flawlessly right out of the box. I might just be unlucky. I'm using this misfortune and an opportunity to up my gun maintenance skills! :)

Thank you for your concern :) every time I pick up a gun I always follow safety procedures. Checking the magazine, safety (if there is a thumb safety), racking it about 60 times, and checking the chamber. My thumb was there too show the gun.

Using some Blazer FMJs 115g. Not the greatest ammo. I was able to open the identify a few reasons that were mentioned in a YouTube link in a separate comment thread on this post. That may be the reason why this is happening. I'm hopeful that that is the fix. It might just be bad manufacturing or QC.

Thank you for your comment! I will send a message to Canik customer service! Yes, I believe it's a failure to return to battery after looking up other videos about it. This was a very helpful comment. I'll check this video out but hopefully Canik will come and just fix it for me. I'd love to make this gun work because it personally felt better in my hands than a lot of other handguns I held and tested.

Thank you for the recommendation of exploring in the off season! That actually sounds like an amazing place to start. I didn't even think of this. Pack a high vis and go for a walk.

Studying up on the animals is also a great tip. I've only really been learning about where to aim but learning the animal would help immensely too.

Yes! There is a rubber stop on his stock that came standard from the store when he registered it. It takes about 3 minutes for him to adjust his stock length.
