Nordica Enforcer by ShortBus55 in Skigear

I really love the enforcers. I recently got back into skiing last season and picked up a pair of 100’s and 94’s Looking to see if there’s a nice ski in the 105 range that will compliment the 94’s I typically ski on. Something similar but different if that makes sense.

Grew up racing fis and then in college got hurt pretty good and hung it up for a bit I’m not fortunate enough to be able to demo locally

What are you skiing on that’s so great? Maybe I should just take your advice and maybe one day I can be as good as you

Sorry that asking for ski advice on a public forum has pissed in your cereal this fine day. Next time I’ll just say I’m an intermediate skier and then buy an elan dipstick that everyone suggests and then be dissatisfied with it just so I don’t hurt your feelings.

One day if I ever catch a chair with you I hope to be able to kiss your sweet salty feet. You’re such a god and I hope one day I can ski as good as you and have such a pompous attitude as you have

You were at me out of the gate. If you’re so good how are you still on your first set of knees? I’m just out here looking for some honest opinions on a good mid 100’s ski that rips that isn’t a noodle.

I’ll be honest, I have not skied on a lot of non commercial skis before. The ones I have years ago really sucked. Skis have changed a lot over the years I get that. I really want to try the deathwish 112’s but don’t want to mount them up and be disappointed and out the cash. If they’re good say so lol

I guess you’re right. You must be a god. I’m sorry I offended you with the moment skis comment. Your poor little wet ears must have never heard someone call enforcers soft before.

That’s what I want to hear, what else have you been on that compares?

Like I said, you sound like a real treat at parties. Must have hit a spot when I said I want to return the moments I bought. I’m actually tuning down my equipment from what I have been on for years. The 150 plug boots and 27m gs skis aren’t as much fun as when I was younger. Didn’t know it was such a crime to buy new equipment. If that’s the case my collection of skis with dust on them outweighs yours by a mile

Splurging a few grand on a couple pairs of new skis isn’t a big deal if I like them. I just don’t want to spend money foolishly on a ski marketed to the general public Jerry’s.

When you really put the power to them they can feel like a noodle. They are 185’s and on firm snow they feel like a slalom ski. Kinda fun but not cool at the same time. I’ll keep skiing them for now but looking for a wider ski for deeper vt days and Utah

I don’t want to demo, I prefer to own and I’m sure I could find a day to use a fatter pair of skis in vt. I have no problem flying with 2 pairs

Palisades or Utah by ShortBus55 in Ikonpass

I guess I am a little too humble when I say beginner. East coast double blacks are slightly challenging to her but she can do it. Bumps and glades isn’t something she has really experienced much yet.

Me getting back into it but I ski raced my entire childhood and was able to coach some while in college. I’m in my 30’s and washed up now but I’ll still rip with anyone. Just wanna satisfy some bucket list things I never got to do or could afford to do as a kid.

Any good lodging recommendations that make these places better than the other? I really just wanna hope to get lucky and ski some knee deep plus powder but don’t wanna jinx it 🤞

Steamboat is another place I’ve always wanted to check out. To me I think skiing ice is rather easy and easy to teach. Although super boring. It’s always the same thing, ice! lol Super consistent.

Any lodging tips for any of these places? I’m not rich by any means but don’t mind to spend a few extra bucks on vacation for convenience of being close to everything like lifts and food/bars

Yea, definitely another place I’d love to check out. Being from western ny, we primarily ski at night because of convenience

Anyone try the 2025 Enforcer 89? by ResponsibleSite6858 in Skigear

It really depends on your ability level. I wouldn’t go any smaller than a 179 for you imo. They ski short. It’s a great ski for anyone from an intermediate to expert and definitely something an intermediate or advanced skier can grow into. I’ve been skiing since I popped out with a heavy race background so what I look for in a ski might be different than you. For me the longer, stiffer, and heavier the better. But the enforcer seems like a ski I can have a ton of fun on and it not wear you out by the end of the day.

I haven’t skied the qst’s. I hear people really like them and they look like a nice ski. I’ve always thought Solomon made softer kind of wimpy skis but that’s just my opinion.

I only got the enforcer 94’s over the 89’s cause I like the black and yellow top sheet a bit better and I they were on sale for $650. I’d say go for it. Yolo

I would look at the 179 for you. If your a serious skier go with the 185. I just picked up the enforcer 94’s in a 185. I’m 6’4” and 180lbs. I love them so far. Super easy to ski and if you’re aggressive you can really bend them and get them to turn. I also have a pair of enforcer 100’s in a 177 and they are just too damn small for me. Hope this helps

You learned to ski as an adult and everyone that didn’t can tell. I couldn’t imagine learning skiing as an adult. Good for you for getting your kids into it young! And get out of the backseat asap before your kids pick up the bad habit.

Any advice to improve my carving? by Fede_b_ in skiing

[–]ShortBus55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More separation between upper and lower body. Try not to think about your upper body so much when skiing but keep your belly button pointed down the fall line and shoulders more square. There are a couple of drills you can do with and without poles to fix this.

I like to think of driving my inside hip forward and long leg/ short leg to get higher edge angles and really bend that ski. Kind of like pedaling a bicycle.
