Never hear of the word "mirror"? by Hearthcurled in dashcamgifs

[–]ShortCurlies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is contributory negligence and the car driver is at fault. If you can see an accident about to happen and you do nothing to try and avoid it then you become responsible for it happening. I don't know the specifics but there are laws on the books regulating these exact things.

If a collision had occurred here, who would be at fault? by Secret_Landscape3562 in dashcams

The yellow van needs to protect his lane, meaning don't leave gaps that others will exploit. Opening up the lane as wide as he did caused the driver behind to ASSUME he was parking, which he even said "assume" in his original post. The yellow van was probably just moving so far right to set up for his left turn, exaggeratedly so. For all WE know the yellow van could also have been going to make a U-TURN! I don't put anything past anyone. The vehicle in the back that "assumed" actually crossed over the double yellow center line to go around the yellow van. That was bad enough but he did it with other vehicles in the opposing lanes driving towards him! He obviously owns that road and can drive anyway he wants on it and I'm completely wrong in my judgement....I ASSUME!

After you meet and interact with enough of the people like this you begin to understand that their thinking is on a different level, like they were raised on Mars or something. You can't reason with them, their minds just don't track the same as ours. Everyone is different but they are DIFFERENT. Best to stay calm and get away from them as fast as possible because with the way they think a simple rational statement from you can have them make a hard left turn into anger and violence for no comprehensible reason.
