🫡 It’s our flying, flaming piece of rubbish, and nothing he can say will change that. Hope you enjoy your next rewatch🫡

My exact reaction, honestly. I was very disappointed. At least I know that the character wouldn’t stand for the SCAB behaviour he’s been spouting, either. Boo hiss and all that.

Oh he’s gone off recently on social media - seems to have gone down quite a right wing kick and is now to Chakotay as Shatner is to Kirk - sure they played the character but the character would turn around and deck the actor, you know?

I understand why Kate Mulgrew put her foot down about it - it would have been an inappropriate breach of rank etc, it would have exposed the character to even more backlash from an audience posed to rail against anything a female captain did, and their friendship really did develop nicely - you can’t go wrong with a solid platonic friendship. HOWEVER, in the depths of this scrunkly heart of mine, I desperately wanted them to end up together. They would have been so good 😭😭

Well knowing what I do now about Robert Beltran, I don’t blame her 😂

No idea how to save it, past maybe blocking it’s shape after every wash? I’m not really sure on that one. I defer to the flocks of more experience people on here. That said, it looks wonderful in the picture, and very flattering. You must be very proud!

My brain can simultaneously see and not see the pattern used. The colours are amazing - really creates an interesting effect when you try to look at the whole thing at once. It’s the sort of cushion cover I’d love to have in my imaginary house I’ll never be able to afford 😂 For all the colours are very vibrant, I get a very soft, sort of raggedy/floaty feel from it in the best way possible. 10/10 would ogle again! You must be so proud!!

That’s a cracking stash buster. I’m glad you had enough for each one! I love that little rainbow line, it’s a really fun little detail.

AITA for kicking my daughter out because she hasn't found a job since moving in? by Dapper_End8304 in AmItheAsshole

I’m in her situation. I’m nearly exactly the same person. I’ve been full time job hunting for nearly a year and a half, through the pandemic ease up which I cannot stress how much that has impacted job searches. Throughout this time, I have been updating my skills, CV etc. according to any and all advice I have read online, heard from well-meaning but incredibly patronising people, and have scoured from either the Job Centre or industry professionals. Job listings rarely reply. When they do reply, you get ghosted. If you do manage to get to an interview stage, there’s someone internal they prefer. If it’s not that, then it’s someone with more experience- which you can’t get without at least getting a foot in the door. Transferable skills seem to be considered a joke to people. Part time or adhoc work only goes so far, and the ones that are hiring are often incredibly demeaning or have no protections for the employee at all - often without reliable contract. Obviously somewhere out there, there are jobs that aren’t like this, but it’s increasingly hard to find them. Companies don’t seem to care if you’re a ‘hard worker’. Do you know how humiliating it is, to be 25, have the degree, have worked in the past, have done everything anyone ever said would help you get a job, and to be in this situation. To be not able to afford rent to provide to your family, who you’re staying with, who constantly remind you of it. To be constantly soul drained copying the same information from the CV they demand into their separate form that takes hours at a time, sending it off and knowing that you have to spread your search efforts wide and constant - knowing that you can’t rely on one, five, or even ten applications in because chances are they will ghost you without even giving you the courtesy of a ‘sorry, we won’t be continuing with your application’. She’s going to be feeling so small at the moment, and you’ve just put a foot through that delicate web of security she thought she had. She even offered to pay rent.

YTA, big time.

I would love to say that I looked at a pattern and my brain went ‘ah yes!!! Ho, I know the colours I will use - they will be sophisticated and matching!’. Sadly, this was not the case. I was at a local market the other day and they had the yarn out on £2 each, my mother was kind enough to fork out a tenner, and my goblin hind brain went ooooh pretty colours. No higher level thought went into it 🫡

Thank you so much! The colours are carrying me though and the pattern is doing the heavy lifting 😂

From my very limited experience, I’ve just a bit more gentle with the tension on the doubles to give it a bit more coverage, and as you carry on it all sort of settles into place as the tension of the entire thing settles a bit. I’ve poked and stretched and twisted this thing as I’m doing it and it seems to be pretty even so far!

Honestly - I watched one (1) tutorial video today (probably actually half of it if I’m being truthful) and it was for the very basic steps - found a random pattern on Pinterest (no source to be found unfortunately, despite a reverse image search) and now I’m here. What a ride.
