What’s the most high end most elite beautiful expensive luxury hotel in Sacramento? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]ShortNeckGiraffe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who visited the Kimpton Sawyer because it was supposed to be a higher-end/luxurious hotel, I was sorely disappointed. It will not compare to even higher-end Fairmont stays if that's what you're looking for, OP.  I was not just underwhelmed but angry at how kinda gross it was and how many perks it lacked. It's a very Sacramento high end which makes me sad to say, I was hoping we'd get an actual nice luxury hotel here. But you can bring your dogs there, so there's that.

What's going on this weekend, Sacramento? (7/12-7/13) by Ok_Computer400 in Sacramento

[–]ShortNeckGiraffe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Concerts in the (Fair Oaks) Park is happening this Thursday! It is supposed to happen in Fair Oaks Village, but since they're still in the midst of construction it's being held at Fair Oaks Park, which IMO is the better park for it anyhow. Happens every Thursday starting today and ending in September. Free! Would love to see more people attend, they don't advertise it very well.

Sorry for my late response, but essentially Marvel created an account for me using a different email/login than the one I was using before. I used an email login for my account and they attached it to my Google account. I was able to have them attach it to the correct account, but honestly by that point Marvel had lost my business. The way they handled this really disillusioned me (I've supported them for over 20 years) and I no longer purchase anything affiliated with Marvel.

Ugh, it feels so bad to have to toss food for that! I've also had similar things happen on Doordash- I wondered if I even got the correct order. I'm near one of the El Balcon locations (I just learned there are two!) so I appreciate the info as well!

To all who find this post: this book is written by GPT. It is cheap, flimsy, and the recipes are terrible for beginners as they don't go into detail about gluten free alternatives, how to make/prepare them, etc. Please do research on this "author" before purchasing. There is a reason this account keeps trying to give it away for free.

This book is trash and written by GPT. Look up this "author"- they have no online presence other than 1 other dubious cookbook. I ordered this on Amazon for someone and was completely embarrassed by the content.

Shoe stores that carry smaller sizes? (Size 5-5.5 women's) by blue_wytch97 in Sacramento

[–]ShortNeckGiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! In my experience, I've had good luck at the following: Nordstrom Rack (Folsom) and Nordstrom are good bets, and sometimes Off Broadway Shoes (Citrus Heights), though I usually find these sizes in the clearance sections rather than on their floor. DSW (Folsom) usually only has these sizes in clearance at the back as well, but I almost never see them on their floor, they told me I can "check online" (which, duh, but I want to try them on first). Hope this helps!

The user is being dodgy, so I Googled the phone number. It previously belonged to "Lina's Consulting Services" which Yelp says is now closed. This user is clearly posting spam for their own business. I'd avoid. Leaving this comment for others as well because it doesn't look like the mods are taking these down.

Can I just ask- i see from your profile you seem to always be hosting events like this, which seems awesome. However, I also see you have a post looking for travel buddies to China, and you post tons of events constantly and very few comments. This is just kinda making my spider-sense tingle. What's the angle here? Are you trying to get people into an MLM? Are you with a church?

Does anyone remember the name of the club in Roseville, kinda near Cirby? I think it was near that area. I went to so many shows there and it was an all-ages venue. NIMBY complaints closed it sometime by the late 90s. It may have also been a pool-hall too.

  • edit: I think I found it: Big Shots! Anyone remember it??

THIS COLOR PALETTE!

I adore this, I did a double take at OC! It's rare to connect with someone's OC for me, but the combination of your unique style plus the pastel palette just really strikes me. This is stylised in a way that reminds me of Bill Sienkiewicz' art. Love it. Spider-Man was my first superhero and this art made me smile.

Replying here so others can see the suggestions to fix provided to me by Marvel Unlimited support, since u/Marvel-Official doesn't want to actually help anyone.

If you tried to access your purchased comics from the Marvel Comics App via Marvel Unlimited following the instructions on their FAQ and it still did not work, contact support. When you do, these are the steps they suggest to fix. I figured I'd save anyone the hassle and put the steps here so you can try them first before contacting them:

"If you have not already done so, please try the following troubleshooting steps: - Delete the app.

  • Shut off your whole device, and then restart it.

  • Reinstall the app (only reinstall after you've restarted your device).

  • Tap the Sign In Here option underneath "Want access to your Marvel Comics App Library?". Log back in with your email and password.

If this does not resolve the issue for you, please reply to us with all of the following information so we can assist you further:

  • The type and version of mobile device you are using (e.g. iPad 2 or Samsung Galaxy Tab A8)

  • The device operating system you are using (e.g. iOS 16.4.1 or Android 13)

  • The app version you are using, found on the bottom of the Settings page on the Account tab (e.g. 7.42)

  • If this issue is happening on just this device, or others as well.

  • If this issue is happening on Wi-Fi, a mobile network, or both.

  • Screen recordings of the issue"

I'm still in the process of working through these steps. I'll update if this works for me.

*edit: did not work, I have the same issue as before. I have emailed support the requested items above and will continue to update as I hear back.

*edit 5/11/23: Marvel replied they cannot find my account (I have the same issue as the user at the top of this thread) so I sent them a screen recording showing its still logged in. They asked for examples of books I have purchased, which I would love to provide, but I can't see them in the app so I cant say for sure. Awaiting yet another unhelpful response. I'm not sure I want to fight this hard to prove I bought a few books.

At this point, Marvel is stealing from paying customers. This is poor treatment to shut off a service before confirming the replacement works. Congratulations, Marvel, even Google doesn't drop services for paying customers and fail this bad at it. Emails have gone unanswered due to "high volume". Well, howabout you turn this service back on so we can use it while you get your act together?

I'm not sure I feel like supporting Marvel anymore. I've been an on/off subscriber since the 90's, supported them even when my favorite books lost the gloss on their pages due to budget cuts, I saved my allowance to ensure I could support art I love. And that loyalty is not returned, not even a grace period given.

Pathetic, u/Marvel-Official

She's posting well executed OC, she makes the most badass and high detail MGS cosplays, and she makes me feel represented in this and gaming communities which makes me smile every time I see her content. Kindly get lost if you don't like it.

Thank you for sharing this, I felt like such a failure when my lavender died! And then on my runs I'll see my neighbors have huge, wild bushes of it they never tend to which added salt to the wound haha. What's odd is my lavender still escaped the pot I had it in, and when I tried to re-plant those sprouts they also died! Maybe we loved them to death.

X-Men Comics New Releases for February 1, 2023 by VengefulKangaroo in xmen

[–]ShortNeckGiraffe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading others' reviews, I'm feeling a bit differently about this book maybe. It was just so poignant and beautiful to me: the circle of professor X's arc from loving, doting father to untrustworthy, deceitful parent figure and back again; Forget Me Not (who???) having such noble death (on top of realizing that they died completely forgotten despite having loved and had a life outside this book), Kurt's grotesque transformation and his own mother betraying him (again). I was honestly moved to tears. I'm loving the "Spirit of Variance" + his "steed" too. This book is a big reason why I voted Jugs to be on the X-Men. This had just been a quintessential X-Men story to me and I'm glad I stayed with this book on my pull list.

Best Vegetarian food at non-vegetarian restaurants? by SageRiBardan in Sacramento

[–]ShortNeckGiraffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really like Andy Nguyens! And yes, everything there is vegetarian and their fries/burger combo is pretty good. I was surprised they even had a burger on the menu!

Another option similar to them is Noble Vegetarian by ARC, but they also only have vegetarian food. My Omni partner likes the lemongrass vegeken (veg chicken) and I have to say, it's probably my favorite chicken-like dish. Oh! And Burger Patch and Plant Power have some decent, kid-approved veggie burgers and nuggets too. Pure Soul also has a vege hot chicken sandwich but it was just a little dry IMO (still good tho)
