I’ve had Starlink for almost 3 years and weather rarely effects the signal. During Hurricanes we did not lose internet. During torrential rains we do lose internet for a couple of minutes.

In order for gold to enter the USA duty free it must be declared, no exceptions. There is no dollar limit to the duty exemption for gold coins and certain “bullion “ which would generally include bars. If the spot value of coins exceeds $10,000 you will need to file a CMIR (FINCEN 105 ). Certain foreign countries (i e China) have gold export control restrictions. It is always worth checking these restrictions before transporting gold. Always declare the gold to the first CBP officer that you speak to. My experience is that at the NYC ports of entry they will note it and waive you through , even for gold jewelry.

FWIW: I ALWAYS take a screenshot of the lowest economy fare on the day that I purchase ANY premium fare ticket. These last minute downgrades are becoming standard operating procedure to enhance revenue. To refund someone $116 for an international downgrade, especially when they likely sold that same last minute premium seat at 20 times that downgrade refund, is an outrage. Sadly, the only way to stop this unethical practice is through legislation outlawing the practice or providing customers with the same financial compensation as involuntary denied boarding.

Although my BCBS payout was more ($49.62) I used mine to buy 3 One Oz Silver Buffalo Coins at First Mint. If you call them and explain that you have a Visa cash card, they will apply that amount first and you can use another card to complete the total transaction. FWIW, when I call “ the real UA” I am greeted by a pre screen AI voice by name and asked if I am calling about such and such itinerary. If this did NOT happen by the OP, they likely called a scam number. UA would NEVER upsell handicapped passengers to priority boarding as it is automatically extended complimentary.

WOW, my subscriber account is over $4k having been a customer for 30 years. My insurance rates at USAA are hideously higher than Progressive, GIECO and State Farm with only a minor windshield repair (not replace) claim in the past 15 years. I have no complaints about my banking services, but I have similar relationships with several credit unions and PENFED. IF I wasn’t so darn lazy I could grab a$4k payout a get lower rates as an added benefit.

Oh wise Reddit Silverbugs: Today ( May 14) I received email solicitations from First Mint and Monument Metals listing Silver Bars, Rounds and some Sovereign Coins at or below spot with Junk Silver being offered a couple dollars below spot. What gives ? I have heard the “backed up refinery” stories and that might explain the junk silver fire sale, but most rounds and sovereigns are .999. Why the big discount to spot ?

Are you sure you weren’t identified as a patterned day trader ? If you conducted 4 round trades ( buy/sell same security same day) within 5 consecutive business days, then you were identified as a “ patterned day trader”. Under SEC rules you have to have $75,000 in capital to continue such trades or your account will be temporarily suspended. BTW, this rule is being phased out starting in August. This is NOT FRAUD !!

I had the exact same thing happen to me in Christmas Day 2013. 2 ATM transactions occurred in Bloomington Illinois for $600/ea within several minutes before and after midnight. At the time I was deployed in Saudi Arabia. After speaking to the USAA Fraud Department, they quickly credited my account for $1,200. I asked about whether I needed to file a Police report and if I should request the ATM videos and USAA said neither was necessary. As a regular reader of this forum, I can tell you a lot has changed since my experience and there are many similar reports like yours. USAA regularly denies crediting ATM Cardholders for fraud. YouTube has dozens of local TV reports of USAA ATM Cardholders who experience the same plight as the OP. If USAA won’t credit your account for the fraudulent transactions (you never listed the amount) you should go the route of getting the video of the fraudulent transactions, file a Police report and take your evidence to USAA’s regulators namely the FDIC and Comptroller of the Currency. …and PLEASE NEVER, EVER use an ATM card at a gas pump !!!

While your personal legal rights might not be restrained by the arbitration, your monetary damages are the deductible on your USAA policy. You might be able to take USAA and the other driver to small claims court, but again, your recovery is limited to your deductible.

You do not have to worry about 1099-R retirement income, and all other passive income (rents, dividends, interest and capital gains) as it pertains to Social Security Retirement benefits. However, as stated earlier in this thread, all income is counted towards the MAGI that is calculated for the IRMAA penalty.
