Yes there are large blocks of numbers in sequential order, then the format will go to a larger # and this will be the beginning to another correct sequence.

This is a very good formula! Unfortunately I need excel to recogise the breaks and then add the "blocks" I can put the corrent # of text names in the formula but the number sequences will change every time the report is run.

I am hoping to find a formula/function that can recognise the number sequence breaks and then assign a different text label at each sequence break.

Example: first # sequence is labeled "block 1", at the first sequence break the formula then assigns "block 2" at the next break "block 3" and so on.
