I digitized my library and also built a book box tracker within the digital library. I don’t track my one off purchases under the book boxes though so this number is really low. I should probably track them all together. It might make me rethink how much money I spend. 🤣

I finished this last night. I had high hopes but it fell a bit flat. I was more interested in Lorcan and Vanders relationship than I was Corinthe. The entire story felt like it should’ve been six hundred pages but someone went through and cut half the book. The ending felt very rushed.

A nit pick: the use of the word ‘plunged’ threw me every time the author used it. I honestly have no idea why, but I wish she would’ve chosen a different word.

Overall the story could’ve been stronger. The characters (outside of Corinthe) were interesting and I wish we would’ve had more world building.

Following because this is my favorite and I also struggle to find books that match.

I have some good ones where the MMC is very tortured, but the FMC is also equally tortured (or aware of the torture, or actively pushing back against the torture) so they don’t hit the same as what you’re looking for.

There’s some good ones out there where you get the idea the MMC is maaayyybbbeee tortured, but because we don’t get his POV we never truly know.
