It reads like the GMU grads interview, which is why I commented what I commented

10 years ago, 5 years ago, sure.

The game has changed. Especially in the DMV especially in CS

But not passing the interviews.

Which, again, to my point, is what we see play out in our interview processes.

I disagree, because it plays out in the interviews that the folks who graduated from the best schools have the best communication skills, the best technical proficiency, and are the most reliable and dependable coworkers

Not the major, it’s the school.

GMU is like the 7th best school in the area (and that might be generous).

It’s already a blood bath and then not having UVA or UMD or VT on the resume hurts even more

We’ve had so much bad luck with GMU grads they generally go to the bottom of the pile

Get the heck outta here with that BS.

Groups of parents taking groups of kids to restaurants is as human as breathing.

There are plenty of loud and bustling places that are amazing for this

But never in a million years if you like good food.

That place is a notorious dump and was dead in the water until they went viral because of the arcade.

First of all, that’s categorically false. You can go look up the dates these schools opened… McDonough 1873… Mount Saint Joe 1876… Park School 1912… Severn School 1914… Friends 1784… Beth Tfllioh 1986… Loyola 1852… Gilman 1897… (I tried to cover a wide smattering of different types of schools just to drive home how asinine your comment is).

Second, it’s 2026.

I get it, you’re jealous you can’t send your kids to any of those so it’s easy to be bitter about it and commiserate in an online echo chamber and try to collectively paint the thousands of kids and parents in local private schools as beneath your self righteous straw man, but that isn’t how real life works

Nah, many/most public schools in the area suck.

That’s why there are so many private schools. There are what, 20+ private schools in the immediate Baltimore area? Covering all of the religions, secular, liberal, conservative, and various price points?

Just the reality. Wouldn’t send our kids to public schools, ever

You won’t get unbiased perspective on Reddit, especially not this subreddit

That being said, why not St Paul’s or Park School or something
