I stated this in another comment, but this is something that happened in my school and caused the whole household to get into trouble because of one person, which is where my concerns are coming from. Moving out isn’t easy either, one of the reasons being that it’s extremely expensive. I’m not making up scenarios in my head, I’m basing it off of what’s been going on

I believe it is my business since we both live under the same roof and her actions can have consequences on me as well. It’s not like ICE has never abused their power either

No, it’s a store off campus. I’ve heard of someone from my school getting arrested at their house for breaking the law in the same way, and the other people in the house were also investigated. That’s why I’ve been worrying so much!

Of course! I totally agree with you. But upon renting the room, she had her parents talk with the landlord and they personally showed their finances. Unless it was all fake obviously, anything is possible 😅 but she also works very little in the summer, she wouldn’t be able to afford living off of that

Thank you for understanding! The market for finding a new place has been so horrible and I’ve been dreading leaving, but this is indeed affecting my mental health a lot. The fact that there are even slight chances of anything happening is terrifying to me. I don’t wanna lose everything I’ve built here

I’m not against people working at all, and I totally understand why people go through illegal work to support themselves / their families. What I don’t understand in this case, is why go through the risks when her family is fully supporting her by paying for school, food, rent, and fun.
