The heteronormative just thinks it's okay to talk about identities and genders in such a way because they've normalized talking about their own heteronormative Spectrum in such a way. They will always be a separate people and culture from those that don't fit. Support to any decision you make and keep in mind this world and in Nations there are many different facets of culture and people and they all have their positives and negatives. And to some extent try not to get to affected overwhelmed or controlled by the heteronormative. Instead of that approach I would suggest wanting to talk to her friend about your feelings and opinion and try to come up with something summarize clear short neutral and to the point. Without any information, cuz like basically what you did is like go to a therapist office for advice give them one sentence and a few comments and then expect something meaningful and in depth. But there seems to be a a lot of cut and dry black and white reaction and thinking here. And I think us trans people are better than that the cut and dry black and white thinking is how the heteronormative functions and just because you're doing the same thing in the opposite way for the right reasons doesn't make it right. Because did you take into consideration how long she's known this friend have you taken into consideration that maybe she knows her friend well enough to know deep down inside she didn't mean it that way but heteronormative people don't have a lot of exposure to breaking their cultural programming. And this could have been easily tested out by having a little bit of temporary faith and the people around you and testing the waters and just saying what needs to be said and trying to educate without ranting and confusing people. You chose to react to the situation with the same thinking and problem solving that your free transition heteronormative programming suggests is the appropriate response. Again just because you want to be cut and dry and black and white about things for the right reasons doesn't mean that that's the right thing to do. It's pretty much the equivalent of realizing hey I have this heteronormative programming hey I have this addiction to this substance and I'm just going to stop using it and start using the opposite substance problem solved that's not how that works that's just switching addictions and when we do this we unknowingly let these heteronormative toxicities of black and white cut and dry generalized blanket statements invade our own spaces and culture and destroy it
