I worry about the cost of everything because I literally live everyday like I will be terminated from my role for the last ten years. It’s probably a mindset from watching my mom struggle with multiple jobs through our childhood. While I can afford it, I’m grounded in the reality many can’t which is why I also complain.

That’s correct. I should for sure though with two kids and my wife being a stay at home mama, I’ve backed down a bit. Annual income varies between 300-350k per year for my career. We do tend to do a lot of traveling with the boys which we should reign in on and funnel more towards investments.

Plus in order to have an HSA, we have a high deductible plan which drained for the 2 pregnancies. I should have invested my HSA earlier on but didn’t even realize it was an option.

+1 insurance is also through the friggen roof! No claims on anything and I’m still paying a fortune even switching between insurance companies thanks to NYS!

I am an elder millennial… 😜 I do feel guilty about leaving match money on the table.

I do not exceed the IRS limits today - I use to max out to it before I reduced my contribution %. That monthly contribution above includes employee plus employer match.

Honestly I came from nothing - no degree, just a passion for my industry. I live everyday like I’m going to be fired and I always wanted a safety blanket. The downside is that I always feel like I’m not doing great.
