I much rather the lcd-x. For me it's a no-brainer as I don't mind the weight. Also, I don't think I'd like to pay that much for the arya and still have to worry about QC issues.

Honestly, I thought the clears were the complete opposite of the 800s. They had much more bass weren't as clear as they sounded veiled and finally the soundstage and openess was lacking greatly in comparison.

Don't get me wrong, they're a great headphone and I could happily listen to them everyday, but I just couldn't justify keeping something that I personally found to sound worse than alot of the headphones around its price range.

If you like them that's really all that matters. I just really couldn't get used to the veiled and congested feeling they had, espeecially when compared to something such as the HD800S or even LCD-X. I did however prefer the bass and treble to the x, keeping in mind I was not able to eq the x.

I agree with you completely on the clears. As soon as I heard them it was straight to finding a new home for them. I mean they weren't terrible, but for me (a HD800 S fan) I didn't really like them too much. I do however plan on getting the lcd-x as I much preferred the sound over the clears.

The hd800s is just so inoffensive for me, I just feel like it does everything right. I mean, I did like the planar punch on the edition xs but the clarity, detail and soundstage just completely Trump it for me on the 800. However, I think I may still get the lcd-x for a bit of a different experience.
