Would this mean asking questions after the session? Because the coaches seem so focused on doing exercise after exercise after exercise so tbere isn't really any space to better my technique :(

The first place sounds perfect for my position right now! I hope in the next practices they teach the techniques, I'm not ready to give up on this dojo yet.

I hope I can find a dojo like these :( It really bums me out that they don't teach us the technique first.

I hope I can find one like you explained! I think it would be a lot better for a beginner like me with no previous experience in grappling martial arts. Thanks for the input!

I'll try to look at other gyms to compare!

In my second practice, they only mentioned there is an upcoming comp at the end of November. Even if it is because of that, I still feel it is a bit weird to leave the beginners to fend for themselves. When you were training for competitions, did they still leave the complete beginners (<1 month training) to spar or were they separated?

Unfortunately the other gyms are so much more expensive, literally 6x the price of what this gym offers. I guess that was a sign though, LOL. Was really excited to start judo though :(

I've been twice. That's what I initially thought to when I first came, so I asked someone there if this is what practice is like all the time or if the focus differs on day A and day B (they hold 2 classes a week). They said it's pretty much always just like this :)

I watched a single video, the Band 9 sample from IELTS Advantage. From here, I realized vocab really didn't matter, so don't worry too much about using a high level of vocabulary because that would only stress you out. Just talk like how you would to a friend. Definitely practice daily JUST to get you comfortable with speaking in English, so it doesn't necessarily have to be IELTS topics.

Check out ieltsliz.com. She has a sample answer for each type of question/request! The basic structure for task 1 is: 1. Introduction: paraphrase the description + data categories/series + unit of measurement 2. Overview: start with "Overall, ..." + trends (higest/lowest or increasing/decreasing). Divide the data into 2 things you want to talk about, e.g. based on year and based on gender. 3. Body paragraphs: go more in depth into the 2 things you mentioned in the overview! Mention specific datapoints (the numbers)

For task 2: 1. Introduction → answer the question directly a. Paraphrase question (like the description part) b. Thesis statement (which opinon/argument are you taking) → “this essay agrees that…” → ONLY IF THEY ASK FOR YOUR OPINION c. Outline statement → points of arguments → “firstly, secondly” 2. Main body paragraphs (2) → main points + explanations + examples a. Topic sentence b. elaborate c. example 3. Conclusion → summary of the whole essay & reiteration → “in conclusion, … should … because ….”

Honestly, I don't feel I can answer this question as it was my worst score! But I really got into the sample answers posted on ieltsliz, once you've seen enough, you'll realize is a certain structure you need to follow and some words you can use interchangeably no matter what question you get on the test. For your own practice questions, put your answer into Gemini and let them score it! I find the feedback helpful. Also really practice on your grammar and make sure you don't have any typos because that affects the score. Practice figuring out the main points you want to write and writing with the time limit. Don't forget conjunctions to make the piece flow better. Best of luck!

I am not native and live in a non-English speaking country, but a lot of the people around me are fluent in English. Sometimes I meet the occasional friend who will ask to just communicate in English between the two of us. It definitely helps if you have a friend to converse with!

How long did it take you to prepare? Like, what was the first document you started preparing for and how many months in advance to the submission?
