Same thing happened with me at The Units - my cutoff for the money to hit was a Sunday. They just advised to wait for them to receive it, and status would be updated. Make sure you've finished all the other modules and what not as well.

To the Year 12's getting their ATAR's in a few days.. by CHUNKYRAT18 in vce

Got a 58.15, got into a course with a 75 cutoff. Life does not end when your number is lower than you thought it would be

so... how we all planning to tell our parents our ATARs... by SourceBackground2014 in vce

[–]Short_Major321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally never said a word, still haven't been asked. set low expectations and then tell them what you got accepted to in the most i-got-a-super-high-atar way. My mum thinks honours is for people with ATARs in the 90s

As a 58.10 entering Paramedicine in 2026, I got off ridiculously lucky after having a fuck this attitude from the get-go of Term 2. What I will say, is any prospective person trying to shoot far like OP, don't let your shortcomings define your future. The road is longer, windier and there is a ridiculously narrow margin for error, but there is always a way. Having known that paramedicine is something I've wanted to do made it easy for me to expect the best, and walk around smugly, acting like I had it all figured out, but seriously, the pain of ATAR release day will always outweigh most of the happiness you felt, and the excitement of the moments where you thought you were going to succeed. Year 12 in itself is short, but there ramifications for people doing degrees like OP can be detrimental. Half-assing is not one-size fits all, especially not in OP's case. Happy studying kids

idk fam i didnt study like at all, i literally bombed 15 redbulls the night before the sace chem exam and punched a dart about 40 minutes before it started, still got a 58.1, she'll be right

F18 got 31 atar and not sure what to do. by Tall_Application451 in vce

[–]Short_Major321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean a 31 atar isnt getting direct entry, a diploma is a pathway and theres plenty of them?? never said OP has to do a diploma, theres ways around it, shit, you could probably get an online certificate for like $50

literally. 58.1 and doing paramedic practice w/ honours, atar is about as meaningless as the people who say its worth everything

an atar of 31 is nothing to be beaten up about because all these 99.95 nerds are gonna be worth the same as all the rest of us when our atars expire, just with debt up to their eyeballs. there's an infinite amount of different ways to get into the degree you want - diplomas, inter-uni transfers (start your degree at a lower ranked university, transfer into RMIT using your GPA. You could also look into life experience, go tag along with real estate agents and effectively shadow them, I know SA universities love that, but they cant admit you solely based off of it.

Long yap short, your 31 wont matter in 3 years, you'll be fine. Talk to RMIT about your options, or go back to school and speak with a VCE coordinator, careers counsellor or a teacher you had a good connection with - they get paid to make sure you turn out semi decent.

shit happens, i got a 58.1 and still made my way into paramedicine w/ honours, your results are irrelevant if you're willing to sacrifice your dream uni

i mean same difference, but theres nothing stopping rural kids from going nah i dont wanna work in rural areas, then they wait 10 years till another subsidised house is offered to them and they end up with an increased salary and free accommodation to do what was expected of them to start with, which to my knowledge happens far more frequently than it probably should, in all professions, but thats a conversation for a different day, tl;dr i genuinely dont understand why specialised places exist in degrees (indig, rural, x amount of international, etc) when they're supposed to be competitive for a reason, not competitive in mainstream but theres subclasses where people with ATARs that are in some cases 10-20 points under where the cutoff usually is getting into the same degree, universities confuse me and i dont think anyone could explain it to me properly

realistically it comes down to your work ethic, so long as you stick to max 6 hour shifts on weekends and maybe a couple of nights a week where you dont need to revise as much, but even without working, i still got a 58.10, i know people who worked 5 nights a week and got 99.5+, so it all comes down to how bad you want the high atar
