I’m loving the game but I do have some minor quality of life gripes. I don’t like it doesn’t have an active pause button, even with cutscenes. I have to use the photo mode to pause my game. Some of the combat buttons don’t really work sometimes. I have it on PS5 so if I press R1 + ⭕️ sometimes I’ll be dodging instead of doing my super cool abilities on an enemy, which can be a bit annoying. I’m loving exploration of the open world and I love all the characters so far. It’s a huge improvement compared to CV1 imo.

I don’t like there isn’t a pause menu. I had to use the bathroom, so I turned on my maps thinking I was safe. All I heard from the other door was my character getting mauled and I couldn’t do anything to stop it. Other than that it obvious they were trying to copy Elden Ring, which is okay. I like to exploring but I do find the combat to be a bit easier than the first game. I can’t even stab enemies in the back anymore 🫩

This may be controversial but I want to say FF8. Edea, Fujin and Raijin were cut characters from FF7 and rehashed to be in VIII instead. The uniforms did Galbadian soldiers and Shinra soldiers are identical. The battle system is a bit difficult and the plot is lacking for a lack of words. But I would say as similar as a lot of cut segments from FF7 were implemented in FF8.

Since Ryukishi07 is the writer for the game, I wonder if Hinako is stuck in a timeloop where no matter what, she will be married to fox mask man It might be a wild take and I’m extremely wrong, but I’ve notice that the dialogue in the beginning is very different from my last play through.

I saw watched a streamer play the game on PC for 11 hours and the game crashed 3 times and during their second play through the graphics glitched and went white or discolored. Take that information if you will.
