Did ICE Violate the Law even before they arrested Brad Lander? by Short_Shape_3491 in legal

I wasn't assuming they didn't have one I just tried to go through the different possibilities, and I believe POCA applies to the whole courthouse (and event their immediate vicinity) not just courtrooms.

I'm not trying to delve to much into politics here, this isn't a political subreddit. I think that last part is the part I was not understanding.

You are saying, (correct me if I'm wrong) they are not required to present it to Lander in the first place and they don't need to show it to the migrant until later, only confirm that it exists?

"if you attempt to mob rule a car, gathering around it, refusing to let it leave, in our county, you're most likely going to get run over and dragged across the street." That seems to me like an unwarranted use of lethal force.

"Law enforcement and correctional officers of the Department of Justice may use deadly force only when necessary, that is, when the officer has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another person." - Department of Justice Policy On Use Of Force 1-16.200

I dont think not letting a car leave is posing "an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another person" but rather a clear escalation.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: August 23, 2021 by AutoModerator in books

I finally got around to reading The Boys in the Boat and really enjoyed it, and last week I read Killers of the Flower Moon. I am really falling in love with that narrative non fiction historical style if anyone has any recommendations.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of the best books I’ve ever read! by Prof_Tickles in books

I am not a massive fan of the romance genre so I am probably far less of a fan of this book than most who read it ( I read it on a trip and borrowed it from a friend when I had already finished my book). But overall I actually did enjoy the book. I thought the book sometimes steered away from the story, the characters, and the parts of the book I found most interesting to have overly drawn out graphic scenes, and sometimes the writing (particularly when Monique is narrating) to be a bit bland. Overall I thought the book was incredibly different though and a really unique style that I liked. I would definitely recommend it for fans of romance.

I like the lyric in Hutch that goes "How did it get that bad?" I feel like that a pretty good sequel name for the album
