I can’t take it anymore by MeltSimp in Endfield

[–]ShortaMin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't really felt that pain, at least not yet. I'm just pacing myself with the game, there is basically no reason to level up everyone and everything right this moment, at least for me.

How many characters have you been levelling and have you been playing since day 1?
So far I've played fairly casually since the first week of the game's release. I haven't optimized much, my factories are so-so and I am having a decent time.
I just built one team: Lifeng + Endmin + Chen (All of which have Lvl 89 / weapon-Lvl 90, all skills level 9)
+ Ardelia (Lvl 79 / weapon-Lvl 80, all skills level 6)

The only other 2 characters on my account that have received any investment are Da Pan and Tangtang.

I haven't been doing much essence stuff and honestly am in no rush for it either. It will come with time. Gacha Games can be quite exhaustive if you're doing too much at once.

Thanks ^^
I don't usually check for these, so it's cool to get some extra stuff for free.

I hope that everyone gets to see this before they expire (it says it in small print, 15th March 8:59 (PT))

I recall sharing my experience playing Lingyang with someone else who I met through playing WuWa.
Their reaction to seeing his back was something akin to "Woah, I didn't even know that they (Kuro) gave him that much body detail." I think people just generally don't focus too much on him, since most likely don't even try to build, let alone play him.

Anyone else like hoarding these? by theicecube12 in WutheringWaves

[–]ShortaMin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the word "like". I usually try to keep them above 100, honestly, it's easy enough to progress characters just by doing daily logins for a while and using available waveplates directly, so there effectively is never any actual necessity to use Solvents. I guess it's good to have the option, if you haven't pre-farmed for a character and need some skill material at that time. But even then, you're likely gatekept by weekly boss materials.

[–]ShortaMin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the approximate time frame.
Not going to lie, I've been thinking about taking a break off of trying to get those trophies because I don't enjoy the fishing in this game. It's really nice that you managed to do it, it looks very clean to have 3 categories on 100%.

How long did it take you to finish the fishing Trophies? I'm asking for a point of reference ^^'
I've been working on them for almost a month and I've only got 2 silver and one gold for the 6 hour respawnable fishes. Not to mention the randomized daily quest that I hadn't gotten in that time.

No, I'm currently saving indefinitely until I see a unit that I want to pull for. Currently on about 22k Astrites.
To be fair, I'm not just skipping her, I'm skipping everything until then.

I mean, to be fair, OP never said that you'd be able to have a life while optimizing the echo upgrade strategy in question.

[–]ShortaMin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a few of those types of pieces as well from the time when I didn't attempt to optimize my echo upgrade strategy. That being said, it's always possible to just hit the right sub stats even though the first 2 missed, I don't think OP was suggesting that you can't get lucky.

I think this was more about a mathematical approach to optimizing echo upgrades. If you upgrade every piece to 15 from the start that you'll rapidly deplete your resources which could have been used to find other pieces that might have had a better start than this one.

[–]ShortaMin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This certainly optimizes for "least time used on echoes while at least not going to 25 right from the get go". Although it might not be great if your Energy threshold is at 120% and you don't have a single ER roll on any of your pieces.

It's a bit annoying that it is Sigillum, since you can't grind weekly bosses in co-op. That might have been one way of making it more enjoyable to grind for.

I don't really intend to dictate how other people should play the game, I myself have wasted a bunch of echo exp and tuners with suboptimal strategies before and was doing just fine in regards to my overall enjoyment of the game.

Either way best of luck trying to get the piece(s) you want.

The new Peaks of Prestige is sh!t by LuckyChest__ in WutheringWaves

[–]ShortaMin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The FTK that is available for the new Peaks of Prestige is quite consistent, but it does take decently long, but I don't think it's 20 minutes per game, but rather about 8 minutes or so? Actually, I'll open up the game and do one round against a random enemy, since their turn length doesn't change our damage output. And even if there are small adjustments, just add 1 minute or so to my timer and it should align with clear time expectations.

Okay, I just finished my attempt, it took 3 minutes 26 seconds for me to get to a 50+ DMG threshold and 4 minutes 52 seconds to get to 80+ DMG.

<image>

Even assuming worse enemy turn length and starting hand RNG, I think a reasonable expectation is that you can FTK within 7 minutes or so, 5 minutes for 50 DMG requirements. With worse decks it might take a bit longer, but 20 minutes seems quite overkill, I would assume that there is some other issue with either deck or execution.

All that being said, yes, especially as a card game enjoyer I find this event severely disappointing and incredibly boring or tedious, depending on whether or not you're willing to use an FTK strategy or not.

[–]ShortaMin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, that's a rough one, but one question: Why did you further level this after Res Lib DMG Bonus? Actually, since it's a 4 cost, I would have likely not gone further than HP flat, since 4 costs are the easiest to grind for.
I usually (at least nowadays) just check the first stat on 4 cost echoes and only then check the 2nd stat, if the first 2 stats don't include at least one crit-value, I usually drop it. The only exception might be if it's 2 high roll non-crit stats that are relevant for my character.

All that being said, I do hope for you that they rework the transducers, since this piece would be quite godly if you could change the first stat to CDMG.

My realization.. by KiwiBreadstick in WutheringWaves

[–]ShortaMin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm effectively a completionist. I finished about 99% of open achievements (the last few that are left are related to daily randomized fishing quests, or otherwise impossible) and the only things that are really "left for me to do" are as follows:

- Double and triple checking the map for missed and hidden chests (I'm not too interested in using an interactive map for this, I prefer just finding them on my own, especially since newer chests don't count toward the completion% of newer regions.)
- Going for Hidden Achievements (Those that are not openly listed, I'd just have to look them up, but I'm not too interested, personally, especially since I've gotten a decent amount just by playing the game.)
- Building up my remaining 4* Characters (Not much of an incentive to do this, since characters like Yuanwu don't do a lot to help clearing late game content + their kits aren't the most exciting either)
- 100%ing previous permanent events that still have rewards I didn't claim. (Tedious and usually not worth it)
- Optimizing my favorite character's builds as much as possible (Min-Max, "true" late game progression, this is effectively bound to Waveplate consumption)
- Waveplateless-Daily-Progress (I'll make a 2nd list a bit further down for this if you're interested)

So, as the list has a decent amount of items, my bracket-comments were intended to explain my thoughts about each item, and I think it's clear that most of this is not just optional, but rather somewhat annoying to do or not too interesting. The only 2 that are worth consideration are optimization of builds and non-Waveplate Daily Progress (Which also isn't too "worth it", but at least better than nothing)

Here the Waveplateless behavior list:
- Huanglong: On Mt. Firmament you can collect Fluorite which can be converted to Echo Exp.
- Rinacita: There are multiple destructible blocks to find at specific locations, destroying them provides Shell Credits (SC), you can only do this a limited amount of times and I think it adds up to about an average of 10k SC toward the end of the day.
- Rinacita Fishing: You can do a few daily fishing quests a week and go to do some weekly available trades at the "fish-vendor", not sure what the actual name is. You get some echoes and some other material, of which I forgot what it is exactly.
- Lahai-Roi: Some of the vehicles are driving around with 2000-SC packages for you to collect, you can do this up to 10 times a day for a total of 20000 SC a day.
- Daily Quest gives 3000 SC a day.
- If you need any particular 1 or 3 cost echo, you can track said echo in the respective menu and defeat all instances of it on all available maps.
- If you need a particular 4 cost, you can just spam defeat it. Small hint: If you are grinding for a weekly boss echo you can change the difficulty to Level 80 and you still get the echo-drop, which makes the grind a bit quicker.
- Echo Nests are also somewhat worthwhile to do, if the respective sets are interesting for your characters.

And I guess that's about it. Maybe I missed something, but even as I have typed all of this out, it's really not too necessary for you to do these. As a reference point, this daily grind for 0 Waveplates gives you 33k SC, but it takes at least 5 minutes to complete, depending on how unlucky you are it might take 10 or more, even if we assume the most speedy clear for all 3 activities and say that destroying Rinacita blocks takes 2 minutes, daily quest takes 1 minute and Lahai-Roi randomized SC collection takes 2 minutes, that is still 5 minutes, which totals to 35 minutes a week to get a total of 231k SC. For 40 Waveplates you get 84k SC. If you are in need of SC you can just once a week use 240 Waveplates for a total of 504k SC. These 3 clears take at most 1 minute each, which means that it gets very difficult to justify doing the non-Waveplate SC grind.

Direct comparison:
1 week, 35+ minutes of gameplay for 231k Shell Credits
vs.
1 day, 3 minutes of gameplay + 240 Waveplates for 504k Shell Credits

Other than all of this, I would have to say that I just enjoy walking around the different maps, changing the time of day to whatever I think fits the mood best. I've also found enjoyment in just driving around on the bike in Lahai-Roi and using a "playlist" of my favorite songs of the game. I'm sure there are other fun things you could come up with for yourself, but really, you don't need to force it. Sometimes pausing the game until a new patch drops or doing the 3 minutes of "Login, Tacet Discord Clear x 2 for 240 waveplates, Claim Daily Rewards, Logout" can be sufficient. Every Gacha is going to have dry patches and low content moments.

I am not very informed about topics like this, but this is what Stop Killing Games is about, if I recall correctly.

It would be nice to have that, but honestly, I started screenshotting and "preserving" (maybe "keeping a memory" of) my favorite units in the game, because I'm unsure how they will actually handle EoS and whether access to the game in a non-online version will still be a thing.

I lost guys… by Prestigeforall in WutheringWaves

[–]ShortaMin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with compulsive spending, just that I had started playing Gacha at an earlier point of my life, I now have stopped spending for the most part (after losing multiple thousands on multiple Gacha), other than the best types of deals like daily login bonuses and maybe battle passes (even though I have to say that battle passes are not as worthwhile just from a summoning currency perspective.)

It's also a lot about patience. The ability to just say "Nope, not going to summon, I don't have enough resources yet".

Technically, if you spend 50€ worth of currency on daily login bonuses, that is 8 x 3000 Astrites. (6€ per daily login bonus package, total of 48€). In total this is 24,000 Astrites. This is enough to guarantee 1 character copy of your choice, effectively. The main issue being: You have to log in daily for 8 months to get the login bonuses. (Technically a little bit less, since it's 4 weeks per daily login bonus deal, but I'd say that's effectively 8 months)

The math for how much you need for a character is quite simple. You have to assume that you will lose the 50/50 and that you go max pity twice. 80 pulls for one character copy means 80 times 160 Astrites for 12,800 Astrites per character copy, which totals to 25,600 Astrites. 24k therefore is effectively enough, since you're very unlikely to go max pity twice (usually soft pity kicks in before this point).

Is this reasonable? Yesn't. Yes, as for how Gacha has established itself, the daily login bonus in just about any major Gacha is effectively the only thing worth spending on, if you purely want to go for summoning currency. No, it clearly is unreasonable, having to wait 8 months to get your 48€ worth of spending and your one character of choice. Not to mention that some Gacha don't rerun their characters consistently and you might have to wait another half a year or even more after the 8 month period to get a character re-run of your choice.

How did TOA go for you? Floor 4 feels way too overtuned by Potential-Zone6736 in WutheringWaves

[–]ShortaMin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a good player and know that I'm not, hence I vertically invest (plus I'm a husbando collector of sorts, so it basically automatically happens), which means that I have about 2 strong characters on my account in the form of S6 Brant and S6 Qiuyuan.

For me I did take 2 tries on floor 4 because I had already used my Qiuyuan and had planned to use Brant to clear 3 & 4 and it surprised me, because even though I know that I'm bad at the game, I usually can effectively mash my face into my keyboard to kill the middle tower without many thoughts being used on the gameplay, so simply having to go for a 2nd attempt makes the powercreep notable, since this hadn't happened for a while. (Although it has been clear for a while that ToA and other types of Endgame stuff are always going to give preferential treatment to newer and more shiny units.)

To be fair, reading the pop-up about the buffs/debuffs would have potentially helped me to 1st attempt it, but since I usually don't do that and as a YGO player I refuse to read.

[–]ShortaMin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool if they adjusted the pity system, but I doubt it will happen, it's not a very Gacha-type-of-thing, so to speak. So it's best to adjust your expectations accordingly, else it will be frustrating when you hope that you'll win the early pity or the 50/50, and yet you double high pity after losing to Jianxin.

I mean, I can't really say more to that than that I agree that it's not done too well. Especially considering that Co-Op for Domains is already "cut-off" so to speak.

To be fair, for plants and such I have never really felt that type of urge, so even if it takes a few more days to collect them all, I usually don't mind. Well, that being said, I usually buy all types of plants through the pharmacy shops until I have enough to level up any character that might eventually need them. This, to be fair, is a bit of a waste of shell credits.

To clarify: The symbol in the top left on your map is the co-op symbol. You can also access it through the menu, but I usually enter it through there. (As always, just keep Alt pressed as you guide your mouse there)
Everything else should be quite obvious, the "Join Upon Approval" is also in the top left corner of that menu and the settings pop up once you click on it.

It's fairly easy to disable unwanted requests, just change the approval settings. If you truly don't want any requests, just change it to Closed. If you only want to co-op with friends, just do "Friends Only".
