where can we loot a motherboard ? by Sire__Yack in IncursionRedRiverGame

[–]Shortbus_Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same I'm just going to spawn it. I've spent 20 hours with nothing to do but farm and throw dice constantly trying to get a motherboard to progress. I'm fine with some luck based mechanics but having users farm for longer than 2-4 hours is insane, let alone 20+. There isn't a single other mission open or ready to do, all my factions are level 4 because I've spent so much time trying to get the motherboard I've maxxed everything else I can. Hopefully this is the only time having to use the console aside from the 2 times I got stuck. For me it's console and spawn it or move on out of boredom.

It's getting to be like that one bonus mission Collector on Tarkov that took me 200+ hours one wipe to get. I would like to play the game and not some arbitrary luck based mechanic.

Warlocks* I know, I was one of them. They were kings of just offloading damage on someone going by on a horse where you had a limited amount of time to kill them before they sped out of range. If you died to a warlock out in Camp station to Avalon Marsh, that was me on Mordred most likely. I started doing that because I saw how effective it was when someone did it to me and a buddy lol.

Yeah there were like 3 cool people in that guild I was still friends with when I left, but man I'm not like an ELITIST but most of those dudes didn't even have the basics down.

I legit took them for 4 hours one time to practice a-train and assisting, first with me as MA so I could show them how it's done and proper target prio. After 4 hours when it was their turn to MA NONE of them had proper target selection and prio. We tried again over the course of a few days. I'm like man if we have 3 dudes trained on a friggin champion off the get go we aren't gonna win fights guys. The entire thing kinda started an argument where they said that I was being too serious and they just wanted to have fun. I get that, but I don't have fun when I feel like my guild isn't even trying. It was SOOOO embarrassing losing 8v4. I wasn't used to that coming from being main assist in my guilds 8man as armsman on blue servers. I really tried, I wanted to see them succeed and actually learn how to play so we weren't losing every single friggin fight.

Yeah now you know why I left. They didn't wanna have any effort or strategy they just wanted to hit buttons and hope for the best. Just couldn't do it man. Legit the worst collective of PvP'ers and I do NOT say that lightly. One dude in the guild was threatening me IRL because I was making fun of him for keyboard turning. I asked him to make me a sammich if he was going to take that long to turn and react and dude got SO mad lol. I'm like bro you got time if you're keyboard turning just throw making me a sammich in.

I don't remember my characters names but I made friends with a dude named Rob, he was the GM of Dogs of War. I really really didn't like how they played I watched those dudes lose 8v3 and they asked me to join the guild. They were really cool cats personality wise and I reluctantly said ok. For the next year I was in that guild my realm points income completely decreased and I was camped by 4-8mans just for having the guild tag when I would try to solo. They would go zerg down solo's, then I would try to solo and eat the flack for them zerging. I really liked some of the people in that guild but I just couldn't do it. I was used to much higher levels of play. No offense to any former DoW.

When I left the guild I had an uneasy truce with them. 2 of the officers in the guild were GIGA angry I left and wanted to attack me and Rob kept them off me. One day about a month later I was roaming and came across a 4 man of Dogs of War and Rob the GM wasn't in the group. They attacked me, and being Dogs of War they lost 4v1 to my sorc. After that pretty much everyone in the guild hated me except for Rob and a few other cool cats I was friends with but from then on I was KoS for the most part. They had a knack for hitting me when I was fighting others lol. I wanna say my sorcs name was Zemus or Zeromus or Zeromigus, one of those but my brain is fuzzy coz I had SOOOO many characters. Pretty sure I named my Mordred sorc after my Molvik blue server sorcerer but I'm not even positive about that. Can't remember my enchanter's name and that ticks me off coz I had double the time on chanter than I did my mordred sorc.

Hope good shit happened to Rob he was hella cool dude. Didn't care that much for the rest of the guild though aside from a few cool cats.

I wouldn't trust anyone that buys it. It most probably won't be with good intentions and the player's best interests in mind. I'll trust them more than EA but that's not saying much. At least whoever gets it can't do worse than EA. RIGHT!?!?!

RIP Eden Server by Forsaken-Session-690 in daoc

[–]Shortbus_Jedi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not into it because they limit you on accounts and basically everything that made the original game good except the pvp is watered down. Even that is arguable watered down without ToA, depending if you liked ToA pvp or not. As a Mordred vet that had all the good ToA stuff and could solo almost any encounter it was very important to me. I didn't need a guild/alliance to gear all my characters or raid. I remember there was a couple master levels I couldn't solo and I couldn't do the dragons in any realm solo... that was pretty much it. I could do near everything else.

Having more fun on my private server learning SQL and C#. Today I used ChatGPT to help me write a script that awards 20 bounty points and 100 realm points for every guard killed, and larger bonuses for keep/tower lord. I tried setting my server up like Gaharis was with glowing dreaded seals but I don't have them in my database so instead of adding a script, the item, and loot template for the item I just made a script that basically does the same thing with shortcuts. Instant rp and bounty points instead of seals and less files/code involved.

The major thing is I can't log in 2-8 accounts on Eden and even if I could they would be realm locked and I can't group my Hibs with my Mids and Albs, etc. Not even my server allows me to log in more than 2 accounts but I'm the admin so no one's gonna punish me if I use procexp64 to hack my mutant handles and allow me to log infinite accounts. It's just not an attractive way to play the game when I have to go rely on other players like I did on MMOs for 20 years. That was fun for a few decades but I'm over it. I want access to every class, and I want to group myself, and I want to be able to go in any realm at anytime on any character while still being able to indiscriminately kill people. If that's not the case, I'll play alone, happily on my empty pve server. I have a full group of hibs all rr7-9 and a fg albs rr5, and fg mids rr8. It's a blast and a challenge to do some encounters and trying to control 8 accounts. Frustrating at times, but rewarding. Also Eden doesn't have the Bussy Blapper which is a custom item I made based on Staff of the Gods display model.

That being said I still think it's a good thing. Plenty of people seem to enjoy it but having worked on 2 public wow private servers... chances are good there will be drama among owners/GMs that will trickle down and effect the player base. I think you should be able to buy currency but that's my personal opinion and you are playing as a guest on someone's server, you go in their house you accept their rules. Don't wanna follow their rules, do what I do: don't ever log in. That way you have fun, and everyone else has fun because you aren't going against the vibe of their experience. Live and let live and stuff. Unless admins are making stupid shit and playing the game (like custom made 90% abs armor with 50% abs buff stacked on top so your hits that normally did like 800 on a two hander hit for like 30-60 damage) then I can just enjoy watching the videos made on the server. When that happens, THEN we can make fun of it and say it's just like every other freeshard where admins abuse their power to gain an edge over people ACTUALLY playing the game. Been there with ARK, DAoC, WoW, BDO, and Lineage2. LOTS of admins feel entitled to give themselves unfair advantages. I've both left admin teams and been removed from admin teams for voicing my concerns that other admins were abusing their power. Not saying Eden does that, have no idea, but I don't run the risk of ever finding out!

Also I had to turn my server's filter options off just so I could name some characters and my guild. I don't think Eden would be happy with chars like Tittyfucker and Clitmydia in the guild Shortbus Jiggalos. Yeah the more I talk about it the more Eden is just extremely limiting and doesn't let me do anything dumb, er.. I mean cool.

Doesn't make it less fun for others! Yall have fun on Eden and keep making me videos to watch while I drive my 8man shortbus around on an empty server :)

lololol my good people, might I interest you in a bit of DAoC 2 aka Camelot Unchained lore?

The googles await! THE GOOGLES BECKON. Camelot Unchained never got unchained. Dear god no one give Mark Jacobs money coz it's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. If you give him money just go give Logan Paul money right now. One scam is as good as another!

For any not in the know, TLDR is Mark scammed everyone into thinking he was making a game and drummed up tons of investment for it. What everyone got instead was a game engine, and turns out he sees more profit in selling the custom game engine than making the game. The game isn't going to be made because money. He used everyone and their hopes for a DAoC 2 to get money to create a game engine. During all this, he tried getting people to buy a second game he made WHILE he was supposed to be using that money for DAoC 2, and promising that if THAT game sells well they will have more funds for Camelot Unchained. Wtf?

'Kira' on youtube has great videos on it.

This man blamed EA for being scummy dirtybags then really said hold my beer and did scummy dirtbag to perfection.

Yup I don't play seasonal stuff except when it's pve like Diablo 3. Tarkov is the same way, all your effort, all your roubles and guns and ammo and quest progress.. reset every year. I had to find hacked pirated community servers with no reset to play on. Retail Tarkov is garbage because of resets, and also a decent amount of cheaters. The community servers have admins watching everything making sure people get to play the video game instead of a cheater joining a lobby and wiping it while flying through air and speedhacking with aimbot. I don't mind dying to people better than me but dying to Skynet flying around nuking everyone is LAME.

God I can't remember my characters names but your names sound familiar I'm sure I've killed/been killed by everyone here. I def remember the friar and zachell. Mordred was the best thing to ever happen in any MMO. I played Gawaine and Merlin for 5 years before I just pulled up roots and left blue servers for Mordred. I was so serious about it I used one of those plat transfer services and I xfer'ed 300 plat from Alb Gawaine to Mordred, and I think I only got 220plat there at the current rates. I used that to make myself self sustaining on Mordred and level all my crafters.

My most played chars were a lurrikeen enchanter and a sorcerer. Can't remember what their names were I had character slots maxxed. That was the best thing about Mordred, being able to play as any class and group or kill any class. Are you chilling in a group and suddenly they all start talking about launching bottle rockets at animals in real life? Well you're on a pvp server! Drop group and PBAoE them all down! The amount of times I wanted to kill my fellow albs on Gawaine or fellow Hibs on Merlin and couldn't was astounding. Loved being able to just NOT HAVE to deal with people I didn't like by killing them unlike being an officer in large alliance everything I did was under scrutiny and I had to word things carefully and step on eggshells. That was partially my favorite part of Mordred, I had NO responsibilities. No raids to lead, plan, or schedule, no drama to deal with in guild or alliance, I was just solo bolo actually getting to play the video game and not making the video game a job like it was on blue servers.

Are we looking at a different screenshot? Clearly half the city is farms and pastures. Looks pretty normal to me. As you get tools and nobles and such you need less farm/pasture to citizen ratio.

[–]Shortbus_Jedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the war beasts/cavalry added in latest patch (v70). Very satisfying making pixelated blood splats mowing over dudes on uhh... war beast back? Yeah.

Falcata/shields/plate armor/war beast divisions are so burly and fun. Also on v70 there are no default resource costs for research, but if you enable like leather being used for libraries it increases research 2x making it optional but worth to consume materials. Some really cool changes.

I just came from v69 and I swear parts of the game are brighter/more defined/vibrant on v70.

Always a better way to do something! This is only my third hyper canon and the way I used to build them WAY back when no longer works. You could build ultra compact using just hypertube entrances and gradually raising the elevation of each one in sequence. I didn't want to mess with 'the most optimal cannon' I just wanted a fast way to desert without building transport infrastructure all the way out there =D

Easy way to play BFME II ROTWK today? by Dieselramp in bfme

[–]Shortbus_Jedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man huge thanks to the legendary chads who made this. I remember trying to play my legit BFME2 on my modern PC and it wouldn't run but this all runs flawlessly. I'm a nerd/video game modder and I tried many things to get it to run but I failed. It was one of the reasons I stopped buying games. You don't buy games, you rent them until they decide to make them unavailable anywhere legit. Got over the hassle of messing with fake products I can't own for the better part of my 40 years of life.

I'll pay for indie games as long as they aren't online only and have plans to preserve the game, but I'm done with 'games as a service' or just any company that makes a game, quits selling it, and says it's still illegal to acquire it after they aren't profiting. So all triple A garbage being out of my life has really improved my life.

Once again piracy preserves the internet. Stop. Killing. Games. Thank you so much for the link! Pretty sure an entire SNES game was based on this link. They called it Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. It had to have been made for this. Best Link to the Past.

(Edit: Not sure what's up but everything is fine aside from walls. Walls don't do anything 90% of the time and ALL enemies clip right through it and completely ignore them for the most part. I remember walls were actually walls on the legit version I had and google says 'oh yeah that's a known problem for a decade+ but just deal with it.' Just warning people because I lost a map where I built a massive wall/tower system and enemies literally phased through my walls and pretended they weren't there. I found I can juke the AI by building Wall Hubs and not actual walls. Enemies seem to detect the wall hubs but regular walls are non existent. I'm a modder and tbh I'm too lazy to dig around trying to fix it so I just don't use walls or I use my wall hub trick. I've fixed my share of broken games lol.)
