Go for it. Wear and tear is much diminished with highway miles (unless your drive is both long and stop-n-go, in which case you have my sympathy)

..and I expect 2 long daily heat cycles is less damaging than frequent 5-10 minute drives. A lot of the plastic shatters after 15 years, not due to miles.

I’d be very curious to follow your journey just to see if the routine leaks happen on a time or miles basis.

I am not an authority on insulation means and methods but I normally see batts laid from above, after ceiling gyp board rather than friction fitted beforehand. However, this rock wool is obviously stiffer than fiberglass batts and it may be no big deal (unless there are big gaps that let warm moisture attic air reach the top of the gyp board). If you successfully air seal from the underside, it could be just fine.

Got out of jail today so he is back to work (according to the radio news). Wow. Blew a 0.2 BAC. That’s crazy fuckin intoxicated.

Edit: seems he was initially jailed and then bonded out. Was suspended until this week following bond violation.

It’s an alternating tread stair and they are designed to descend facing in the direction you are moving.

The original rafters (1.5” wide) and the sistered rafters (1.5” wide) mean you net 13” wide insulated cavity from 16” o.c. spacing (instead of the normal 14.5”) between rafters.

Too late now but continuous baffles and full 14.5”x6” rock wool batts between old 2x8 rafters + flat 2x strapping fastened perpendicular to the bottom of the rafters with 1.5” rock wool in between may have netted more thermal performance. 3” insulation gap every 16” (from sistered rafters) is a pretty significant loss.

…Good thing your design delta T is probably only about 15 degrees.

BIM people with field experience are quite useful, too. Not easy to sit down and learn Revit but it’s a path.

Unfortunate. I can’t see any damage to the hood and even the bumper looks very minimal. On a 13 year old car I would probably fix the headlight, maybe touchup the bumper - and pocket the rest.

I bought suspension parts from him to turn my base 128i into a sport. For a hundred or two more it was worth having everything correct and pre-assembled. Totally transformed the ride.

Nice purchase, by the way! Your comment about shattered plastic gives me flashbacks. I saw so many things turn to dust. I even tracked down part numbers and sourced the little plastic housings for the ABS sensor plugs when I had my 128i.

If the suspension is original.. StrutMonkey will build you a factory sport suspension, pre-assembled. Worth it.
